I'm not against vocals but I thought this song sucked when I first listened to it... but now... Ohhh Man... I'ts effin GREAT... Has that power and groove and the vocals fit so well
The group's first studio CD in eight years was produced by ex-KYUSS bassist Scott Reeder and contains eight instrumentals chronologically titled from "41" to "48", along with the track "Waiting For The Western World", which features YEAR LONG DISASTER frontman Daniel Davis on vocals. Legendary KYUSS singer John Garcia performs on "Two Times", which is exclusive to the bonus disc included with the first 2,000 copies of "Appalachian Incantation"
Vocals or not! It just sounds great, as Vampreacher said: It is an instrument and speaks out what the others wanna say with their ones! I'm crazy to hear it live in Siegen - Germany!
@00Mayes You're right! It' more like Kyuss/Soundgarden. Vocals are pretty good here. I think I said AC/DC because of the simplistic (but hard) drumming!
@nonicknamekid2010 Year Long Disaster, Rich's other Band. They have two albums out; Self titled (2007) and "Black Magic..." which came out in March this year. Check those albums out if this footage entices you.
This November will mark the fifth year of YLD.as a band. Daniel is one of guitarist Dave Davies of the Kinks sons, -second youngest-
Lyrics: not sure if correct, but what I've got The ancient fellows appease them all I'm not satisfied give what I've got Ghost of Elijah, transient scene Won't you remember me, with that heart of thee? Chorus Visions of the future, trapped in a distant scream Road down this Babylon, waiting on the western world I shall not give back the sun to the sky It happens to the young now, the tide will now rise Vainness exceeds me, this power that is mine A wave of devotion, I'm now in my prime
these guys are incredible live - with daniel davies they are even more incredible. as vampr3ach3r mentioned, the vocals just add another layer of sound to the music and daniel davies is an impressive musician/singer. THEY ROCK!
I don't really understand this mentality of "OMG THIS SONG HAS A VOCAL TRACK!!!! HATE HATE HATE!!!" In this song the voice is just another instrument. I count this as just as much an instrumental song as the rest of the songs on the album. The only time voice isn't an instrument is when it has an over arching message and quite frankly I don't hear much of one in this song. This song has artistic lyrics and the voice should be held in the same regard as the guitar, bass, and drums
@Vampr3ach3r. True. Still Karma to burn is still at there best without vocals. At least this is my opinion. Keep in mind, Roadrunner kicked them out on account of them not getting a vocalist. Witch is lame. In my opinion the songs without vocals should remain that way. They shouldn´t be messed with.
(my spelling might be of due to english not being my native language hehe..)
@Vampr3ach3r i have no problem with the vocal in this song but i wouldnt say having a message means the voice is no longer an instrument lyrics is writing and singing makes it musical i have no problem with a songwriter having a message in there lyrics
I'm a huge garcia fan but of the two vocal tracks on the album, i prefer this. pure sonic fury. to any other song, this video woulda been seizure inducing, but goes great here. especially the end

the rest of the lyrics:
Chorus x2
What's there to carry on? It is the time they brought.
There is solution, call we all
It's the time we're wrong
They're still so curious, it's the time we ruin
Their solution, go with God
It's the time that's wrong
Chorus x2
