I have ran out of videos of nastia to watch. So I urgently need more new videos of her this year. How is she doing? Is she competing before the olympic games?
In some of the interviews with the american gymnasts they say they hate competing without noise so they like the cheering and also in the interview it said they sometimes feel more nervous if there is no music playing.
Liukin had late turn,leg separation all over,and EXCESSIVE bent legs.she also cowboy her double front dimount,the judges never took the deduction that should be taken.Liukin also has little power and height on her vault.On beam,she connects skills with snail-speed to get less deduction.On 2007 worlds beam final, I'm very sure that she had a MAJOR wable and still won.On floor,Liukin always crosses her leg to make them look like scissors,each one should take 0.3 deduction,but NONE was deducted.

The sound of drowning passengers gasping for air is music to my ear. The bottom of atlantic ocean is an awesome place to sleep on. The moment the jet broke up in midair must have been a kodak moment. I'm disappointed that the death toll is so low. A bunch of bodies floating on the atlantic ocean would've been an awesome sight.

A-Sac choked big time at the olympics. She is not a clutch player. She is a disgrace. She blamed the judges, the delay, underage chinese gymnasts, the chinese coaches making weird noises during her routines, the pressure of the media. She blamed everything under the sun for her epic failures. She is selfish. She committed to UCLA, then went to Brown University, causing UCLA to miss out on some of the top recruits. Then she betrayed Brown, turned pro , got the scholarship for free.

spreading her legs allows her to spin faster, because she is so tall she has to spread them, but their are plenty of gymnast who have their legs locked together in similar dismounts - take a look at he kexins dismount (its not the same but notice her form while she's doing it)
yeh kexin has the body of a ten yr old and is very short... so it's much easy for her to spin fast and keep her legs together... of course such a dismount is hard for anybody but i wld imagine it wld be more difficult for nastia

v12kid, Nastia's legs were not "parted many times". He Kexin was at a dead hang after her toe-uphill, which is a big deduction! Nastia made errors on bars, so at least there was a reason for her silver instead of gold. On floor and beam finals, she made NO ERRORS (other than 1 hop). Her routines were better than in AA and they scored her lower. She was robbed on both of these events, if you ask me, more than she was robbed on bars!

have to disagree, the double front tuck with the half twist looks great, not only is there no extra swing set up for it but the half twist gives it a neat little flourish at the end (although it's easier than a blind landing)
Thank you for posting this! I wish Nastia might try the Okino dismount after the Olympics (it's too late now). It's worth a D just like the double front/half. And it's from a free hip rather than a giant swing. Betty Okino had a similar build and the dismount looked so elegant when she did it well. It's the Nadia dismount but layed-out.

I see both of your guys point, but i know that for some gymnasts (myself included) it really helps get them through the routine, espically durning a very long routine like nastia's bar routine.
Even now at my age-I DEFINITELY need my trainers and classmates (I'm in an officers academy) encouraging me whether it be in running, or shooting. Maybe Nastia doesn't mind. It's really her teammates who are the closest to her and I'm sure she might have said something long ago if it disturbed her.

I thought that gymnasts don't wrap their thumbs around the bars for fear of dislocation. But I see Nastia doing that quite a lot.

Nastia made errors on bars, so at least there was a reason for her silver instead of gold. On floor and beam finals, she made NO ERRORS (other than 1 hop). Her routines were better than in AA and they scored her lower. She was robbed on both of these events, if you ask me, more than she was robbed on bars!

have to disagree, the double front tuck with the half twist looks great, not only is there no extra swing set up for it but the half twist gives it a neat little flourish at the end (although it's easier than a blind landing)

Thank you for posting this! I wish Nastia might try the Okino dismount after the Olympics (it's too late now). It's worth a D just like the double front/half. And it's from a free hip rather than a giant swing. Betty Okino had a similar build and the dismount looked so elegant when she did it well. It's the Nadia dismount but layed-out.

I see both of your guys point, but i know that for some gymnasts (myself included) it really helps get them through the routine, espically durning a very long routine like nastia's bar routine.

Even now at my age-I DEFINITELY need my trainers and classmates (I'm in an officers academy) encouraging me whether it be in running, or shooting. Maybe Nastia doesn't mind. It's really her teammates who are the closest to her and I'm sure she might have said something long ago if it disturbed her.
