The tractor has so low of compression pistons in it that you have to start it off of either to get it going and let it pick up sometimes it takes a whole can on a cold day to get it running
No..... Static compression ratio's are still really high. Due to turbo. With lower compression they can run 120 pounds of boost versus 50. More air means more fuel you can burn. Meaning more potential for power.
@novakane87 Not in a diesel...you have to remember a diesel runs on fuel and air..the lower the compression the more air you can pack into a cylinder which means when ignited by the fuel the more power you have because you have more air..just like putting a turbo and cooling the air with an intercooler it pushes more air molecules into the cylinder creating more power
@DieselDoc83 I thought compression ratio is the volume displaced by movement of the piston vs volume at top dead center? So, if the ratio was higher, it would squeeze the same amount of air into a tighter area just before combustion?
@novakane87 I can see you havent been around pulling if you shave a piston from 18:1 to 15:1 that means theres more area in the cylinder..inturn means you can put more air into the cylinder which produces more power its not rocket science and dont try to over think it..diesel engine equals lower compression more power a 12valve cummins truck piston is 19:1 marine 12valve is 15.3:1..truck motor puts out 215hp...marine engine puts out 370hp and alil fuel difference not much
@DieselDoc83 A 12 valve cummins truck engine has a 17.5:1 compression ratio not 19. and the 89-93 have 160 hp, 94-98.5 can have either 160-215 depending if there a manual or automatic. The marine engine have bigger injectors and different spray angles compared to the trucks. marine 155 and truck in 145.
look at that kid he is a champ does he pull it?

kingkong1469,
You are a tard. A 4455 is a full size tractor. It is probably a 430 or 420 hood that has been stretched.
82Hellbilly 2 years ago
Thats or a 55 series JD Compact hood.
cumminspower10 2 years ago
all it needs is a fat chrome pipe
and the hood says 4455 so obv its not a 430
kingkong1469 2 years ago
what motor is in this tractor?

@DieselDoc83 Really? If you lowered the compression in the engine, wouldn't it loose power?

how much do these weight?
in canada we have a class called modified lawn tractors. we mostly run bike motors like zx12s and also some snowmobile motors.
one guy tryed to build a deseil one using a kabota motor, but it wasnt turning like these do.
im just wondering because i would really like to build one.
