To all morons commenting, yes it looks fake and that's because it is fake - it is a DEMONSTRATION not a movie with actors and stuntmen. A principle is being displayed in an attempt to expand the viewer's understanding and develop their arsenal of self defence aplication. Remember, in a real situation it's not about 'this move=this result' and 'that move=that result', it's your instinct that counts.

You can't just show Aikido to people and expect them to copy it. To actually be able to use aiki principles it takes years of training.

If you want an easy way, teach striking of vital points. Even Osensei did that.

You cokyo to the face! you don't do some unrealistic, unpractical turn that won't actually do anything because if the attacker can run, once he passes you he won't suddenly fall over and get thrown? That's the problem with a lot of Aikikai practises, it's big, flashy and the attacker just falls over for you.
