even though i feel better superheroes have come along after superman, he is the one that started it all, and i cant imagine a world without the fantasy realm of superheroes. for that, superman will always be the best character ever invented in the history of time. he created the foundation we all love today :)

I mean dude, you have the most powerful hero of the DC universe and all u give him to competely with is Lex Luthor with a lame old plan to take over the world? what happend to the other villains: there's brainiac, metallo, parasite, bizarro, Darkseid, Amazo, Lobo etc. But no, they had to use the same Lex Luthor. Not that i have anything against Lex, he's a cool villain but they're using him only & not the others.

Because it was little more than a rehash of dialogue, villains and "perils" from the previous Superman films.

Superman has been around for 70 years now and accumulated hundreds of diverse enemies, there's no need for him to only ever face off against Lex Luthor and his pet rock over and over again.

@Graynold65 hey im a big fan of superman but here is why i think superman returns didn't ace it in my books.

My reasons:

1. First of all, Brandon Routh should have really hit the gym for a year or two before being chosen for that role. He didn't actually look so "super". Also he looked to damn young IMO like in his mid to late twenties. Whereby i'd expect superman to look like he's somewhere in his thirties, after reading some comics and watching the animated series cartoons.

@Graynold65 reason #3 : They made the movie about Superman retuning to his life back on earth, but IMO they focused too much on Lois Lane. Yes i agree that she did play a key role in Superman Returns but hey the movie's not about Lois Lane moving on & marrying some other guy, it's about Superman Returns. It's like most of the time throughout the movie Superman is shown with thoughts of why Lois moved on & married the other guy. So those were the reason's why that movie did not ace my books.

@Graynold65 I personally felt it was too melodramatic, not that I have anything against using a lot of drama in a Superman film since the Donner's movie had drama. And apart from Brandon Routh, I wasn't too crazy most of the main cast even Kevin Spacey.

@Graynold65 The way things work in the comics, Superman is the dynastic centerpiece of a sprawling mythology, seen or implied. Returns didn't have that. That's not a bad thing in itself, but it plays itself too much off of the Donner movies, which was especially jarring since we knew from X-Men that Bryan Singer could be really good and original. Not only that, the cast was, apart from Superman and Perry White, really pretty lacking. No charisma, and Spacey was a ham. And there was no action.

It is a trailer for the documentary "Look Up In The Sky- The Amazing Story Of Superman" the trailer came with many movies and TV show DVD sets I have at least 10 of them.
