Maybe not everyone will agree, but we need to stop being so dependent on everything. We need to grow our own food within communities, produce steel in other communities, etc. and everyone will have an equal share. No rich, no poor. The guy that digs the minerals to make steel will get all the food he needs for his family. The person that grows vegetables will get fruits and bread... and vice versa. No money, just equalization. People would have to get used to not having money, and instead....

I disagree. If everyone stopped drinking Coke it would be amazing but would do nothing to drop the company to zero. To demonstrate my point, here's a quote from the Coca Cola products website... We should buy American made small business product, but big cooperations can generate cheap products in bulk which is the smartest option for the here and now in this economy. The economy is kept the way it is to make us cooperate slaves, meanwhile they launch primitive phycolagical warfare on us by telling us that the recession ended two years ago, well fuck you people still can't put bread on their china made tables!
Cocacola isn't the only cooperation man, and it would be so hard to convince that many people considering most of them are dipshits. That would put them out however, they create a huge suply to meet a huge demand, but if that demand suddenly evaporated without warning then they would go out of business. The only problem is that all the cooperations have money in the IMF world bank so we'd only put a minor dent in it.
If you'll stop buying cola your money will find its way to the corporation anyway as it'll become, say, DoD's soda of choice, with a mandatory 10 can ration a day per service member :P

The cans were sold to every type of brand soda that used that can. Its exactly like the pill companys. the generic pills are made at the same plant the name brand pills are made at. A lot of the stores don't sell pepsi at all anymore but have huge displays of coke. Others offer both but charge $2 for pepsi and $1.39 for coke.,This neighborhood has no grocery stores so we WILL fill up on cold drinks when we're without. We all complain but the storefolk say "We ask for pepsi but they give us coke." For most its not political-coke makes many people feel faint. For some it is. That would loose me money and that would be wrong. I could run vegan super market and this would be good for me. Its very easy to sit back and point fingers at people and criticize them. In the past 6 years, I have not bought a soda - and done so for the reasons Max says we shouldn't - with the following exception:
for 2007 & 2008 & 2009 on Halloween when I needed soda cans for my Duffman costume (redecorated as Duff beer cans) and I made sure it was some obscure no-name brand.

The cans were sold to every type of brand soda that used that can. Its exactly like the pill companys. the generic pills are made at the same plant the name brand pills are made at. Cokacola is the biggest brand in the world. It would be RETARDED to not invest on the people who make money off you. Its common sense. Research it bro.

A lot of the stores don't sell pepsi at all anymore but have huge displays of coke. Others offer both but charge $2 for pepsi and $1.39 for coke.,This neighborhood has no grocery stores so we WILL fill up on cold drinks when we're without. We all complain but the storefolk say "We ask for pepsi but they give us coke." For most its not political-coke makes many people feel faint. For some it is. Clerks have all been told "COKE IS THE DRINK OF THE DEATH SQUADS; I'll go elsewhere".

The problem is that people who are likely to boycott come from a certain kind of social backround, and social backrounds don't change that much and fast. Boycott are a nice add on, but surely not the solution. Civil disobedience, political strikes, sabotage, resistance - more likely (because they need less people to work).

I keep saying this in the UK re: Tesco. People are protesting against new stores being built but the company is just responding to demand.
I've told some of these activists... if you want to stop tesco, just convince the people to not shop there. With no shoppers, they will go bust. They won't have this control they have.
It annoys me when people complain about something - e.g. a company but still go there and buy its produce.

Depends, food places have fountain sodas which have more water in them, but they last longer and stock up on them. I personally drink water or some health drink when i eat.
