Technically, atheism is the belief that there is/are no god(s). Which can be considered a form of religion. Furthermore, if religion can fade, than so can atheism. Think about it: if religion is a belief that a deity exists and atheism is the belief that said deity doesnt exist, how can one belief exist without the other?
