  • Acid trip. Love it.

  • smoke more listen less and open your puny little minds LOSERS

  • @schenkelbart88 Wouldn't Smoke more, listen more make more sense?

  • this song is painfully good. my favourite of theirs next to mosquito song

  • @minihelmet77 Just the bass. Trust me, no arguments will ensue. :]

  • Reminds me quite a big of I Wanna Be Your Dog by The Stooges.

  • @AriadnesThreadx haha, this is the second queens song that i looked at today that said this. are you sure youre on the right song? if youre on the right song, what makes you think this sounds like it? maybe all of their songs are different versions of that song. haha, i'm not trying to be a dick or start an argument like everyone else here, so dont get offended. i'm just wondering

  • All that matters is not how much drugs you do or dont do to a song but how well you can feel and understand it and in different ways.

  • The lyrics of this song are so brilliant it shows the mastermind that Josh actually is. And it's not just the lyrics, oh no; the music is put together in such a way it all feels so right. The singing, the lyrics, the music: this makes it for me personally their best song (and maybe THE best song).

    'A new religion prescribed

    To those without the faith'

  • @Bloagh 'A new religion prescribed

    To those without the faith'

I like this a lot, thanks!

  • rehash jazz fusion licks from the late 70's. not impressed. and yes I CAN DO BETTER!

  • @MrNytn2001 hey why dont you go die you old fuck. i dont hear you making solid gold albums in an ever-changing world.

  • @MrNytn2001 okay, im stickin my neck out here, never heard you play at all but, by the laws of averages.......NO YOU CAN'T!

  • fuck now i need to listen to them again, HELL YEAH

  • i reckon the 5 dislikes were those who got blown up through chemistry :P

  • @BIFFYofCLYRO in their methlabs.....

  • Hello, I'm French, I'm 15, I don't understand all the lyrics but I know that this song is musically beautiful !

  • Yeah, i understand how this album fits the taking of drugs very well... I couldn't listen for a while when i went clean. Now I see kind of a dark, yet honest message about pharmaceuticals, legal or otherwise, taking place of god in people's lives, as a false idol. very interesting, i think I even caught this when i was a druggie; I've always respected this band for being that mush deeper and more intelligent than most their peers

  • @handymandan100 *much, derp!

  • Can't anyone ever enjoy anything without drugs? I can listen to this song and fully enjoy it completely sober.

  • @kennederp I like this guy. I agree with you 100%

  • @kennederp it's amazing music sober or inebriated, that's the beauty of it

  • @kennederp

I love this kind of music sober as well but I will admit when I'm high this kind of stuff just reaches another level with me, like I start getting goosebumps and literally get taken for a ride of emotions cause its so awesome.

  • @kennederp Wow someone get this guy a medal! HE can enjoy a song specifically written about drugs by an artist under the influence of drugs WITHOUT being on drugs! He's some sort of superhero!

  • This is my Goddamn Jam! Sitting down listening to this while stoned and just straight relaxing... Best euphoric feeling ever besides just straight up taking Ecstacy :p

  • Has anyone mentioned The Toxic Avenger yet? All I've seen looking through the comments is a bunch of people bickering about Radiohead for some reason. There's a line in TTA where someone says "better living through chemistry" so this song always makes me think of that movie

  • Comment removed

  • @Ragnareich Hell yeah!! in the movie, the bad fat guy says "Better living through chemestry" when they talk about the nuclear waste!!! I thought it was just my imagination!!! Greetings from Mexico ñ_ñ

  • yah....definitely living better through chemistry....I totally forgot about this song.

  • the comments on this video make stone age fans look like total douches, who gives a shit what bands anyone else likes..

  • @Dodgyboy43 welcome to humanity :/

  • Does anyone know what scale/mode/key this is in?

  • @ZeWarlord It's based loosely off of F Phrygian Dominant. (Same thing as Bb Harmonic Minor. Same notes, just starts on a different note.)

  • Sorry, I saw an opportunity to use my music theory skills... I just had to jump on it :D

  • Breaking Bad :D

  • omg i love this song

  • love that point in the song when you think it may all be over but no josh and his guitar return

  • Josh and the band have produced some of the best rock tunes in the last decade or so.Just like The Jam and Green Day I dont think there is a song I dont like.QotSA, imo are the best band in the world.

  • @Bendrix27 he said the jam a punk band not pearl jam two different bands stop being a cunt green day are great even if there mainstream does it matter?

  • @mentalfeed70

If you're too oblivious to realize just how much it matters, you will never understand.

  • @Bendrix27 eh whatever this completely off topic with this video anyways.

  • @bazermaggie I disagree, they are one of my favorites but there are better across the pond, like Stratovarius or Grim Reaper.

  • 2:11 For the glory

  • this song just gets my buzz going...

  • Oh, this song makes me understand how much i love drugs.

  • @ThereseInFurs This song makes me understand that the song isn't about drugs.

  • @littledudemark5 I also listen to Wolfmother, Guns 'N' Roses, and many others. My horizons are broad enough.

  • After going through both a Radiohead and Qotsa sonic pilgrimage, in my humble opinion i can see many similarities between both of the bands, of course they do not sound alike but they both write increadible songs that are truley amazing music. So be glad that we can enjoy both of them. Fighting over which band is 'best' is childish and pointless.

  • I dunno where Radiohead comes into this at all. Both bands are amazing but their differences are pretty apparent to anyone with half a brain.

  • All you dumbfucks who are comparing this to Radiohead...Radiohead lost to Queens before they even stepped onto the BATTLEFIELD OF AWESOMENESS

  • the dark side indoctrination song of the century

  • best there is. period.

  • Are you high enough?

  • @lecrapauddejerri9 of course im hard enough, just like you, arguing over the internet

  • @lecrapauddejerri9

yes please tough guy, will you perform a reacharound as well pleeeeeeeease x x

  • @clintonboon no problem lover

  • Respond to this video...

you make so nervous slash horny crappo the clown

  • So who else took the blue pill?

    Better living indeed :)

  • @Psych0nautilus Sorry, I took the red.

  • My favourite Qotsa song.the rest of them are a close second.

  • @Axerty1234 rated r was a big big let down compared with the 1st album.

  • @pattonPwr That is incorrect sir. none of their albums have been a letdown..

  • my earpussy just came..

  • What Radiohead song is this?

  • @1AaroUin ummm,,,, what the fuck?

  • @1AaroUin its called yo mamma rode me hard all night! woosah.,,

  • @1AaroUin God, the band's name is RIGHT there, you dumbfuck.

  • For some reason this song makes me want to live better through chemistry.

  • WHAAAAAAAAA LAST 1.5 MINUTE IS SOOOOOOO GOOD!!

  • wut i hear in this song 's influence is The Stooges' "I wanna be ur dog" Josh's guitar stuff sound like he grew up on that era

  • @deafsheperd yeah man i never noticed that before but i kind of agree. different tempo and really subtle but i hear it. completely different and amazing songs though.

  • the red pill opens your mind

  • the blue pill open your eyes...

  • wielbie. od 2:51 rozbija mi głowe na atomy.

  • always good to hear awesome music

  • radiohead farted

  • Why is Radiohead being rated on a QOTSA video??How can you find interest in anything else when you listen to QOTSA. Well I'm off to go rape the play botton.

  • Why is Radiohead being rated on a QOTSA video??How can you find interest in anything else when you listen to QOTSA.

  • PURE nectar for my earholes!

  • this song have the same frequency of my soul

  • @ayasustanaN good one !!

  • Why cant we hear the lyrics???!!!

  • i raped the play button this song is so awesome.

  • @Drets007, I think you're awesome. I don't know who you are, but I totally can relate. ;-)

  • @hotlipsfuller lol hx mate

  • Is someone seriously comparing radiohead to Queens of the Stone Age? Woah... FAGGOT!!! :D Nothing compares to QOSTA. Unless it's Dessert Sessions or Kyuss. And guess what. Josh Homme was in those too!!

  • @13todays8ing nothing compares to radiohead.. this sounds a little similar, but with a qotsa feel. i love it! radiohead is one of my favorite bands ever, but a lot of respect for both.

  • @13todays8ing I love QOTSA but What about Tool?

  • @13todays8ing I love QOTSA but What about Tool? 3:20 (cream)

  • @NWOKilluminati911 Tool is an absolutely pathetic band. gag

  • @franchisepeat What makes you say that?

  • the fact that they suck ass perhaps.

  • @13todays8ing I didn't know Josh Homme did any dessert sessions. Did he do any songs about ice cream? I wonder what his favorite dessert is...

  • @13todays8ing And radiohead are a great band and so are QOTSA.

  • good song from one of their best album!!!

  • "I'm reclaiming my miiiind! Destroying everyooone!"

Daniele C.

  • they are going in my top 5 below pantera

  • lovin' the djembe

  • SUCH AN AMAZING ALBUM!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What's that crap about who's copying who? I don't see Radiohead songs resembling Better Livint Through Chemistry at all. / About the song, the first time i heard it was between the soundtracks of a F1 game for PSP. The same soundtrack contained "Doorman" by Stereophonics and some other tracks like those. Better Living Through Chemistry was also featured in the intro. Good times i had with that game. At least it had good music.

  • It is just plain mesmerizing...and awesome...

  • @yukimaruzam

im not sure if you could have put that any better. MESMERIZING........... ambient, trippy, and that fuckin bass line just comes in and makes you bob your head. then it just gets sick. fades in and out, then breakdowns, then power hits when it comes back in. this band is fuckin awesome

  • @f00lishkl0wn It is what music should be - powerful and intense. Something to rock your guts. I believe Them Crooken Vultures are rising to this same occasion with songs like Gunman. Not quite the mesmerizing quality but definately as intense and driving.

  • i dont care if a song sounds like a song from a different band if i have an eargasm... im happy :)

  • I love the bass in this song.

could listen to it all day long. Really want to get the wee music box that plays this tune.

  • how is this not one of the most popular songs ever?!?! its to good i guess people dont want eveyone in the world to hear it ,it would be too much for them to handle

  • Stop comparing QotsA with Radiohead. The only difference between them is that one is British while the other is American.Other than that, both are equally as good.Psychedelic/Experimental rock is not only limited to one band.

  • Radiohead are brilliant.

Queens of the Stone Age are brilliant.

    End

  • @jimbob0025 My God! I'm not the only one who thinks that! *o*

  • @jimbob0025 here we go again, talking about radiohead...radiohead FUCKING SUCKS, they are not brilliant at all, they are crap.

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre calm down. they're sooo good at what they do - maybe you don't like it, (sometimes i don't) but at least appreciate/respect their efforts.

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre Respectfully mate, you don't know what you're talking about. You might not like Radiohead but you have to at least recognise their prowess and influence, surely. It might be hard to swallow but you are just plain wrong. It's almost as bad as people who claim that the Beatles were shit. I mean, seriously. Come on. I'm not going to argue about it as there is no point. I won't reply again.

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre radiohead is great,i know what makes you think otherwise.

  • @aderuno the boring song structures? the gay falsete vocals (wich is hilarious because that shit is "impressive") the lame time signature? the pretentious "conceptual" albums? they are a fucking joke, and that is not an opinion, is a life fact.

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre thats all opinion buddy.radiohead is a great band, millions upon millions of other people would agree.everyone has a different style in music, thats what makes it good.i know a bunch of people who don't like queens for certain reason but again those are opinions.i like all music and music is all i know and i can say in fact that radiohead is a great band.

  • @aderuno not at all, there is no opinion in my comment, is all straight facts, take note on that kid.

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre nah boy, learn what facts and opinions are first then get back at me youngster

  • @aderuno a fact is truth, an opinion is bullshit

I say facts, you say opinions, thats simple.

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre

This is a fact. You just proved how arrogant you are. This is another fact, grow up.

  • @jimbob0025 i'd agree...but i would add Muse to that list!

  • @jimbob0025 Amen

  • @jimbob0025 That is a nice comment. Very positive and direct!

  • @jimbob0025 couldn't have said it better!

  • This is very very like The Stooges 'I wanna be your dog'.

  • @eamonreillydotcom

i think you're confusing this song with "If Only" by QotSA....that song is similar to "I wanna be your dog"...

  • You people get so bent out of shape when someone's opinion doesn't correlate with your own.

  • @SuckerpunchHilstrand You my friend, are in posession of a strong fucking vocabulary! And that is awesome!

  • @DanishPastryy Ha. Strong for the likes of Youtube, maybe.

  • @SuckerpunchHilstrand Hah, Yeah i was totally high when i wrote that - Besides that though, at least you know how to spell and express yourself in a fashionable matter. :) Merry Christmas

  • whoa man im retarded and i like this song what does that mean?

  • you must be mentally retarted to dislike this song.

  • rated R is the perfect image of the Queens sound. I can look at that album cover, and remember my days of experimentation, and every detail of the world in that time. Most music is said to have this power, but only Rated R is that significant to me.

  • One of the coolest tunes written by Josh!

  • one song can sound similar to another without being influenced by it

  • am i the only that thinks of a car commercial when i hear this song???

  • It's like comparing apples to oranges, they both are great, but some people prefer apples, or oranges.

    Also, awesome song.

  • Quite possibly their greatest song for me at least although saying that there isn't a song from them that I don't like so it's hard to name THE best. I hope they hurry up and release a new album soon so they can take over my life again!

  • this is not better then Radiohead just different

  • @MusicJew158 its influenced by radiohead

  • Greatest song ever recorded

  • baby makin music

  • dammit i've been trying to find out the name of this song for so long. pumped i finally found it. this is an awesome track.

  • how do you put these songs up without them getting taken down?

  • I was listening to this on my bose headphones and noticed how well all of their albums are mixed. I can actually visualize the solo moving from left to silent and back in through the right.

  • The solo is just mind blowing. God I get chills when the guitar goes silent for 5-10 seconds, the drum and keyboard are the only instruments playing and the harmonizing of voices continues. Just amazing.

  • Best Qotsa song by far...

  • @volaris123d i would probably have to agree, although that's not to dizz their other songs, it's one of the best songs ever written, by far

  • qotsa can't be beat!

  • im going to start a QOTSA religion thums up if you would join!!

  • @blindone661 I'm in.

  • @blindone661 I'm in. and can I be a bishop?

  • @PsychoRage666 hell yeah (i blindone appoint you bishop) viva la QOTSA revolution

  • @blindone661 religion is false

  • @blindone661 the name of the bible will be "Lullabies to paralyze"

    ...perfect

  • @blindone661 I would join, I would pray till the hell freezez over, I would , i would do anything, just say when and where!

  • @blindone661 Obviously you missed the point of the song.

  • @blindone661 Obviously you missed the point of the song.

  • nice pause they sucker you into a mood than BAM!!

  • man, this song makes me wanna do bad things :D
