@RawfoodPete Hi Pete. Yeah! Me too! In fact, I don't know what it had to do with chili, but it was my favorite song for awhile, and I had to find a video to stick it in! haha. : ) Brian.
I would have sauted the onions, garlic etc, in oil first than mixed the tomatoe paste into water and tha added it. Do you think there is any real difference in these cooking methods in taste?
@masn1978 To be honest, I like both of your suggestions better than my own for this video. More often than not, I do sautee the onions and garlic together first (what a heavenly fragrance!). It intensifies the flavors. And like you, I found the tomato paste does not always blend well without adding a bit of water to it first. Plus, the water simply evaporates away again leaving the paste. So, I like your methods better than what you see here! Thanks for your comments. Brian.
Oh...I should have known better than to watch one of your cooking videos in an empty stomach, Mr Brian...
I haven't had my dinner yet and now... well... I'm starving and in the mood for something as nice as your chilli looks...it sounds spicy and delicious all the same time... my stomach is complaining now, thanks to you sir! ;)
I am soooo looking forward to watching your first cooking video too! I know, it seems like it would be difficult, but it's not. Just cook anything and it will be fun to watch. Even something as simple as buttered toast! Really, it's just an excuse to be in someone else's kitchen and spend some time with them. It will be fun! : ) Brian.
Perhaps I'll have to try it sometime. I'm living by myself now with hardly any cooking experience, but am quite eager to learn. This looks just simple enough and instructive enough for me.
I only wish that you would show more of the steps. That would really benefit me, though I don't know for others.
@adluik Hi Adluik. Yes, cooking (like playing piano) takes time and practice. Frankly, It has taken me years of practice to become comfortable in the kitchen. What you don't see are the dozens of times I gave a pot of food one taste-then scraped it into the trash! Haha! And another problem I have is that YouTube only gives me 10 minutes to do everything! That forces me to rush things and skip steps. To be quite honest, maybe eating your chili from a can is not so bad after all? Cheers, Brian.
@adluik I just realized-the only hard part to this recipe was cooking the beans in a pressure cooker. If you used cooked pinto beans from a can instead, and drained off the liquid, you would still have a great chili when you were done! And all you would have to do is cook the tomatoes and peppers and spices, then stir in the beans. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for watching! Brian.
Vegan? why even make chili beans.
