  • Does it have to be a Tarantula Spider or can it procreate using other Spider species or creatures as well ?

  • No it can use other large spiders too.

  • I love the footage of her flying!

    So beautiful and so frightening.

  • These wasps are actually very beautiful. I love their wings.

  • Imagine if these tarantula hawks inhabited the South American rainforests where the goliath tarantula lives ! Ultimate Showdown !

  • lol id love to see all spiders whiped out, bring them to sydney australia to kill the funnel webs!

  • Don't they reside in the tropical rainforests of South America? Wikipedia might indicate so, let alone all over South America...

  • Yes but they can also be found in north america in places like arizona

  • Indeed.

There has even been video clip posts of a Tarantula Hawk defeating a Tarantula in the state of Oklahoma.

  • Or Oklahoma! D:

  • @GmanGregilla we have them in nevada.

  • @JonasBridgous They DO exist in Brazilian jungles National Geographic showed one I believe in the 1950's---guaranteed. Same species, possible regional variation, extremely large wasp, fully extended wingspan the width of a man's hand.

  • This is one insect you do not want to piss off. The Tarantula Hawk Wasp has the most painful sting of any insect in North America. Many relate the sting to having "liquid fire" poured into your skin.

  • Well, the bullet ant has a more painful sting.

  • That thing's a lot bigger than I thought it would be!

I doubt I'd ever get that close to a wasp, no matter how beautiful and magnificent a creature it is.

    Great shots. :D

  • thanks

  • thanks! :)

  • Great footage, i wish i could see stuff like this...Here in england the best we can hope for is a garden spider eating a standard fly!

    Oh well...Nice one, good vid!!

  • thanks!

  • Beautiful shots...what's the mechanical clicking noise in the background?

  • Thanks. I have no idea what that clicking sound is. I was way out in the middle of nowhere. My camera was on the brink though, so it was probably related to that.

  • that little wasp it's so cute

  • Nice found and beautiful close-up.

  • thank you :)
