I can't believe how easy it is for boat people to illegally enter Australian territory while I have some friends who had trouble applying for tourist visas. The person at the consulate in San Francisco was very nice, but basically told me that unless I was independently wealthy or ready to buy a business then I probably wouldn't be given LRA status. Actually your argument is racist. If two people are both native to the country, then neither is an immigrant. Countries also choose to admit certain people and confer citizenship upon them; these are naturalized citizens. A legal immigrant is a foreigner with permission to be in the country, and illegal immigrant is a foreigner who doesn't have permission to be in the country.

It is racist to try to reserve "native" for persons who are not only born in a country, but who are of a specific ancestry. Which is, of course, precisely why some people in AMerica insist on using "Native American" even though they are seldom referring to all native Americans.
