In DC Training, every exercise is done with a controlled but explosive positive and a true controlled negative phase. It doesn’t matter if its 3 seconds lowered or 6 seconds lowered or whatever, just get to the point where you know you controlled the descent of the weight and at any time you could of stopped and reversed direction if you had to.
As for rest-paused sets, it's go to failure, then 12-15 deep breaths (which is usually somewhere around 22 seconds), go to failure again, repeat again.
I don't understand how you can do 18 reps the first time then only 2 and 3 the second time.. I do understand that your time per set is quick and that lactic acid build up comes heavily into play.. But surely you could have gotten 8 - 10 reps ..
Ill try this type of thing at my gym and come to my own conclusion.... great lift.. very strong and good physique.. cheers
thats your best bet, try it and see. Not everyones muscle fiber type is the same. a person that is more slow witch will be able to perform more reps, while a fast twitch dominant person will perform fewer with he same % workload
um RogerThat5891 if you knew what DC training was then you would know that those first "17.5" reps were the first set of of his RP set did you seriously count the first set and stop the video? he does 2 more attempts which is proper DC training look it up you will be suprised(i dont think you used to do it.)
I counted 17.5 reps.. and the first 15 were 3/4 reps if you don't go all the way down and all the way up its not a rep .. you should lock out and pause after every rep which is what I do for any and all reps... not bad though looks like hes in good shape as well so props for that

@raindeath1994
Locking out your arms on every rep is horrible for hypertrophy gains.

that isnt rest pause dc training! you are only suppose to rest around 20 seconds!
zrx7769 2 years ago
@zrx7769 true, he took about 50secs-1min. Hes pretty strong but that sure is not rest pausing. Also dante says something about 4secs negative.

only 10-15 breaths between the rp sets

too long of rest for DC training....keep it under 30 seconds
bench595 2 years ago
DC doesnt use a stop watch, he recommends counting breaths
RedPointfitness 2 years ago
he recommends counting breaths OR using a stopwatch. Using a stopwatch is more accurate.
zrx7769 2 years ago
plus his rest pause was 50seconds, true dc is only 10-12 deep breaths for around 20seconds...

man that was impressive WOW.

This is DC training. You use higher reps if your doing flat barbell bench
fullyunderstand 2 years ago
yeah but his negatives are a little too fast/uncontrolled. So it isn't a TRUE dc workout

yeah man the hell with the haters, that was impressive...great lift brother
badrock4 2 years ago
too much time in between rest pause, over 50 seconds!
j70thunder 2 years ago
this is not dc training.
you don't use the flat bench (barbell) in dc due to serious danger of shoulder injuries with those heavy weights.

Fuck the haters. They never have any vids of their own "huge lifts".

dc stands for dog crapp training too right? I used to do that... didn't really work for me... doing 5x5 worked best for me
