  • I bet they never did a second take on anything. Those chimps always looked out of control.

  • Imagine if they tried to revive this....who'd protest first,PETA or ACLU?

  • this "evolved" into the reality shows of today

  • @arthur131313

Nah, no way the clods of today could have descended, and I do mean DESCENDED, from the intelligent apes seen here.

  • By the way, this was back when "Scooby Doo" was first airing, along with "The Hot Wheels", "Wacky Races", "The Skyhawks" (pilots who kept doing things like launching gliders off ski jumps), and I forget what else. If you want to know how your parents got that way....might be a few clues here.

  • Yes, folks, this stuff did look just as weird when it first aired. And we loved it! And when we got tired of this, there were the Banana Splits (later known as the Teletubbies I think) and anything by the Kroft Brothers. The last are especially great....."how many drug images can you count in this frame?" Ah, those were the days.

  • They just don't make chimpanzee shows like this anymore. WHY?!?!?!

  • Bullwinkle. Bugs Bunny. Jonny Quest. Lancelot Link. Legendary stuff.

What kids watch today is criminally worthless.

  • Cocaine is a hell of a drug

  • I want some of what those producers were on.

  • A.P.E. Agency to Prevent Evil

C.H.U.M.P: Criminal Headquarters for Underground Master Plan

Geez Lou-eez! Why do I remember that so well?

You drive me APE! You big GORILLA!!

You drive me APE-APE! I wanna dance!

  • who does the theme song

  • @TheKimTwister: Lance Link and the Evolution Revolution. Not to be confused with Prince and the Revolution.

  • I had a friend back in high school who loved this show. It is hilarious.

    PETA would be pissed, though.

  • This theme song has a great swing dance beat.

  • Rise of the Planet of the Apes

  • Looks like something Homer Simpson could watch for hours.....

  • Best actors to come out of Hollywood in years.

  • @1Rhythmystic

That's not funny, it is true. so true.

  • The times where television was less violent and less politically correct than today!

  • thanks for posting. I have to get a shot of this theme at lease once a week....

  • This stuff was a trainers show, but was not really well produced as saturday morning kiddie fare. I remember it from 1970. I was in third grade at the time. An adult could see the time and patience put into caring for these animals, and laugh at the costumes and performances. As a boy it seemed very slow and tedious. Thank you for posting this wonderful nostalgia. The movie "speed racer" with emile hirsch has a few scenes from a similar serial in it.

  • Instead of boom mikes in shot they had to watch out for electric cattle prods!

  • I'm actually surprised this hasn't been brought back---as a movie. We've already got one about cats and dogs as secret agents, and they don't even have opposable thumbs.

With all the CGI and puppetry they've got now, they'd only need real chimps for the close-ups.

  • Oh yeah ! Talk about the best of Saturday Morning Fever :0) Thanks for the post Lee !

  • I see a lot of monkeying around and not enough good acting, ha,ha,ha,....well i'll be a monkeys uncle.

  • Haven't thought about this in ages. :)

  • I like how the networks allowed the creators of their cartoons to smoke so much weed openly back then.

  • I understand that this show could probably not be done today due to various protest groups, etc. But really, people it was just a fun show done forty years ago for kids! I always liked watching it as a kid, and I know many others did too. So, let's not over-analyze everything to the point where everything in life is somehow evil. Good Grief! Me? I'm still looking for any YouTube clips of "Kool McKool" or the Jerry Lewis cartoon from 1970 or so.

  • I remember when Nickelodeon aired this in the 80s on both their regular *and* Nick-at-Nite lineup :) CHUMP is awesome, lol! There's an Arab agent, 2 Asians, a mad scientist, a German and his chauffeur and a Brit!

  • The real "Evolution Revolution" is happening on my channel.

  • EXCEPT IT WAS WORSE, SADDER &LOOKED ALOT MORE DISMAL

    THAN I REMBER

  • When i was three this show was alternately

Depression induceing monotnous scary (chimps REALLY??!!!?...). And chimp acting as""Darwin" made me profoundly sad

Oh yeah it was just awfull, This vid brought

It the feeling right back except

    It wase

  • Ali Assa Seen and Wicked Wong Fu. lol!

    Xenophobic much?

  • lol this brings back the memories...It was always funnier after a couple joints...heh

  • I am in tears! I haven't seen this since it aired in the 70's. Maybe Lancelot Link Secret Chimp could put Ali Assa Seen to work, get rid of Al Quida, stop the war and bring our troops home!

  • @cindybahe

Hey, who's to say it couldn't work? Lancelot Link, your country still needs you ;-)

  • @cindybahe

Well, who do you think it was lead the Navy SEALs to sniff out ben Laden?

  • @redstrat riiiiiiiggght!

  • anyone know where i can get this on mp3?

  • Brilliant...I miss this show! Better than what passes for entertainment these days...

  • Chimps like to throw dookie at your face.

  • @glimmer2158

Too bad THAT was never part of the show! XD

  • I remember watching this on Saturday mornings on Comedy Channel (right before it became Comedy Central).

  • this was legal in america?

  • @patsbassoon "this was legal in america?"

    LOL! I'm afraid it was.

And what makes it worse, they worked for bananas.

Outsourcing in the Animal Kingdom. Anything to save a buck.

    That's the American way.

    Dance monkey, dance. lol.

  • I was in the Air Force at Kingsley Field, OR, when this show started. Several bored chums gathered around the black and white TV to watch.

  • Imagine if they tried to bring this back---who do you suppose would protest first,PETA or the ACLU?

  • @ctdsnark

Or people with a more cynical sense of humor?:-)

  • eee una de mis series favoritas de pipiripao ja.

  • The Baron! Yay!

  • Is this racist? YOU know what I mean.

  • @foodstooge LMAO!!!! Yes, I do know what you mean.LOL!

  • @MagnetoMasterOfEvil I believe Lancelot Link agency's motto was "YES WE CAN"

  • @foodstooge

Well, considering they're all chimpanzees it's kind of hard to say.

  • It is not as good as I remember it.

  • VAI

  • that good not really this was idea by children workshop cause cartoons we watch before 70 were deem to volient for us..lol This was torture for us watch bad tv!

  • "Help! I'm a Monkey!"

  • A blast from the past.

  • Back to the 70´s... Great!

  • LANCELOT LINK?! I ain't seen this since about 1977! GREAT POST!

  • @PatrioticPirate Not even when they played it like five days a week on Nickelodeon in the mid 80s, with the Monkees?

  • @Sprocketman I wasn't fortunate enough to afford cable TV back then.

  • OMG This is toooooooooooooo much:) Wicked Wang Fu you:)

  • OMFG I loved this show. This bring back sweet childhood memories.

  • Boomerang should air this.

  • I wouldn't call it mistreatment if the monkeys didn't mind being dressed in costumes and being overdubbed with the voices of actors who just said whatever fit each monkey's lip movements...which added to the hilarity of the show.

  • I loved watching this on Saturdays.when i tell people about it they don't be me.

  • I know me too...I said yeah.. this show with chimps as secret agents! It was sooo funny . Their like.. yeah, right, than you WOKE UP!

  • I hope nobody minds me mentioning, but was this considered "crueltey to animals"? My teacher thought the chimps were mistreated on the set. Is that true?

  • CHimps, despite their cuteness, are potentially vicious. I would imagine, any mistreatment, would have resulted in a chimp biting some trainers face off.

  • @bassmonkey1962

    Well that makes sense. ;)

  • @Pikachuiscool who gives a shit if the fucking chimps were mistreated on the set. They're all fucking dead now.

  • @miamad

I swear your answer just cracks me up!

    Okay, I need help.

  • Actually the producers were mistreated by the chimps!

  • @Pikachuiscool your teacher needs to zip his lip. Considering how much money is invested in chimpanzees and training them, it is highly unlikely that they could be mistreated. Plus these trainers treat these animals like they are their own family.

Also chimps can tear you to bits if you piss them off.

  • Well, if you say so. I'll take your word for it. I don't think he truly knew either from the way he said it.

  • hahahaahah! OMG! I remember Dragon Lady on this show!!!! HAHAhahahahahaah! Love it!

  • That is some good graphic design.

  • Uh, without thier clothes how can you tell who is what?

And if you make any of THOSE cracks I'm going to come over there and pound you.

  • I remember seeing this in the early 1970s as a four and five year old. I thought this was linked (no pun intended) to "Planet of the Apes".

  • Maybe, if the apes had TV, this is what the ape kids watched Saturday mornings? :)

  • I used to watch this on Nickelodeon after coming in from kintergarden in the late '80s.

  • They do not make Saturday morning TV shows that good anymore.

  • The coolest show i tell ya !

  • show owns hard

  • I WAS A STUNT MONKEY ON THAT SHOW

  • @redstrat8 Prove it !

  • @redstrat8 So was my dad lol

  • @redstrat8 So, you're saying that you were a real "swinger" in the 70s?!

  • It would serve you right if our President was a secret Lancelot Link fan :P

  • @PandaMishima

OMG. That's the funniest thing I've read in a while.

    (wipes away tears of laughter)

  • Oh wow! Saturday mornings in the early 70s! I remember watching this show with my little brother - who is now 43! Ha Ha! Late 80s early 90s I still watched Saturday morning toons with my kids - any excuse, huh? Then the little brats started playing soccer...

Suddenly Saturdays weren't so much fun!

  • You're a true idiot........

  • I used to love this show! I remember when it came on Nickalodeon every evening. Good memories it brings, thanks for posting this.

  • Lancelot Link,

    What do you think,

    About life?

  • Never heard of this show.

I am considering buying the whole set and watching it all end to end in a 22 hour marathon.

I fully expect to spend a long time afterwards knowing that oriental monkeys are spying on me.

Whether or not I perform this marathon under the influence of industrial amounts of MDMA and ketamine is absolutely none of anybody's business, except for me and my monkeys.

  • i wish this show was still on. I, as a grown 25 year old would watch it on my free mornings. I admit this with not a trace of embarrassment or shame.

  • its just a tv show for kids

keep your crap out and enjoy

  • Ah, useless fights and arguments on Youtube. Just watch the video and shut the fuck up people! Sheesh, soapbox anyone??!

  • Well said man. It's too much I see people bickering on here over stupid crap. I guess the internet is a safe haven for idiots.

  • Lancelot Link is the Fucking Shit. I have a70's Thermos of Old Lancey. This show used to make me fucking crack up as a kid.

  • Is this a White House video?

  • I LOVE THIS SONG

  • I LOVE THEIS SONG

  • A un compañero en la enseñánza básica le decíamos Lancelot... porque era terrible mono.

  • Of course, all the evils are non-americans... anyways the show was fun then

  • Couldn't have that show now.. it would be racist! LOL!

  • the NBA? Is that a racist remark or a clever remark?

  • clearly racist.. just another coward spreading anonymous hate through youtube

  • Comment removed

  • i'm a sissy because I think calling black people chimps is racist? I'd like to see you call an nba player a fucking monkey and see who the sissy is.

  • bullshit. "ignorant people view a chimp as being racist". as in, chimps themselves are inherantly racist? "why dont chimps remind people of asians?" YOU are the one who first drew the comparison with your comment of chimps in the nba.

  • Comment removed

  • you called me a racist, then said racism is dead.. you must work for the public school system. I wasn't aware there was no such thing as racism anymore. I thought hate crimes still happened everyday based on ethnicity. I thought wars were being waged around the world based on racist doctrines. I thought genocide in the name of ethnic cleansing was going on to this day all across the African continent. I guess I missed that bulletin.

  • Thanks for clearing that up. I'm from Canada. glad you got the situation under control down there. sadly, racism(rey-siz-uhm a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.) lives on in the north.

  • Toronto is one of the most multicultural cities on earth. but, you make a good point. I could never understand what it is like to live in los angeles. the united states is a melting pot whereas canada is made of communities that largely retain their heritage and culture. just two different ways of life. so, i guess we're not going to see eye to eye on the subject. peace.

  • Good show...... Peace... oh and GO LAKERS

  • I'm sorry to say but, regardless of the fact that LA is a major melting pot there's a lot of racial tension there as well. I found LA to be one of the most undesirable cities to visit let alone live in that crap hole. New York is a better example of a melting pot where different races actually get along. Also, last time I visited Toronto, I thought everyone there lived in harmony, regardless that different nationalities keep themself seperated there.

  • I used to watch this show when was very little. I'm 27 now and I can never watch this now. I'd be too offended about the animals being dressed up. LOL

  • motta"s hot

  • On Turner & Hooch, when Scott was in the car at midnight, he LOL'd about "Lancelot Link: Secret Chimp" around Hooch.

  • KKKKK...Wonderfull!

  • I'm 29 and remember Nickelodeon playing this in the 80's, and it seemed old school then!

  • I remember watching this late night on Nick at Nite when I stayed up late. Nick at nite plays total garbage now

  • I agree. They used to have Dragnet, Superman, The Patty Duke Show, Dobbie Gillis--all the cool shows. Not anymore, though. They have nothing but junk on there now.

  • I used to watch this when I was a kid along with the Jackson 5ive cartoon. I think I was 9, 10, or 11 years old.

  • Get the fuck out of here.

  • I watched this show all the time when I was a kid, it was pretty cute. I always liked that fake Gorilla that would come after him, haha.

I wonder if these Chimps were abused...A lot and usually animals used in Entertainment are treated with disrespect.

  • same thoughts here m8

looks a lot like exploitation to me

no offence to those who liked it as kids of course

  • Oh yeah, I know that kids have no idea about that kind of stuff. I still do enjoy the cuteness out of this show but I hope that they were treated with respect.

  • Remember this show fondly! I'm surprised it was actually on for 2 seasons as I remember they'd repeat the same few shows all the time.

  • My goodness. I watched this show every Saturday when I was between the ages of 8 and 10. Hadn't heard the theme song in 35 years! Thanks for the trip down memory lane (P.S. I see this show is now out on DVD).

  • It is? I'm so excited!

  • Oh, I'd forgotten his boss's name was Darwin, too much. Those villians are scary. Loved this show. Thanks for posting!
