Kamikaze attacks were mostly concentrated on military vessels. Perhaps its a dive bomber or a fighter attack, or perhaps a crashing airplane. It could be a suicide attack, sure, but Kamikaze missions were limited against warships. Artillery isnt out of the question, altough they seemed to see/hear it coming.

Oh, and the footage that begins at 4:27....the explosion killed the photographer that was filming it. Again, amazing.

It is amazing, that so much firepower blasted Iwo Jima, and yet most of the Japanese defenders survived. I have run into some, over the years, that have said this invasion was a waste of men. Yes, so many Marines/Japanese soldiers died, but many were saved, because of the airfields there. More amazing footage, Petr. Thanks.
