what i dont understand is why they called super nanny and not listen to what she had to teach... i mean if it was working for them, they wouldnt have to call super nanny at all right? they obviously need her help and the father just refuse to do what is inconvenient for him.

That father. What it boils down to with him is he's got the maturity of a lazy sullen teenager. He's not going to be told what to do and he damn sure won't be following instructions from women. He is threatened by Jo and so he sulks and behaves in an arrogant manner. Furthermore, it's too much of a pain in the bum for him to make any changes so he's just not going to bother. Paying lip service is a push for him. If I were Jo I'd have fooked off halfway through this BS.

Mom's the firm foundation here and Dad is just an ornament. Extremely glad that my hubby was and is firm and consistent with our kids and supports me with them. You need a united wall of discipline with kids. It's hard when it's one sided.

@chloerockchick1 Jo doesn't yet have any kids of her own. She was recently on TV here in England saying that she wants to slow her career down a bit so that she can concentrate on finding a husband & starting a family. I think she's really great. I don't have kids myself, but I get on really well with them. Sometimes it's easier to be on the outside looking in, though. You can see & understand with an objective eye what the children are REALLY saying behind their words & body language. xx

I love how gracefully Jo accepted the father's disrespect of her techniques! Accepting other people having a different opinion than yours is something we all need to learn. Still, I think this guy gave no thoughts to trying something new. He didn't see that there was a problem at all, therefore he was unwilling to change anything. So now the kids will be strained whenever their father is home because there will be 2 different techniques used to discipline them. Pitiful really.

I'm glad Jo had a good inpact on this family lives. Dad was really being stubborn because he was so use to his old way and that worked for him. Seem he didn't want to change. But I'm sure mom worked on him with what The Super Nanny has taught her. Hope things continue working out for this family. Jo was right, smacking his son, and mom putting son in time out for hitting his sister was confusing to the child. Good show.

Parenting takes patience DAD... Get with the program. It's not about you and your level of patience, it's about your children. Teaching, training your children isn't easy and it takes a whole lot of self discipline and patience. If you weren't up for the job, you should have thought twice. Every parent is going to have those tough times when you feel like you could "loose it" but you're the ADULT, so you must "hang in there" and give them something to emulate.

Mr. Webb is making a mistake that too many affluent Americans make. He works like a horse to pay for a huge house, and has no time for his family.

They should move to a smaller house to he can work shorter hours. Do they really need such a huge house when they have three kids? Do they need that many TV's?

My sister has 4 kids, one of whom has ADHD. They live in a small house and have no TV. As a result the kds play very well together.
