@Theslayervxl Agreed Savage Flux Hp would be A very nice choice for URC to put on the table. I wouldn't piss on a RAIL if it was on fire.... HPI Savage Flux is KING of monster RCs. That I have used anyways =)
i am very suprised that the rail failed to work mine is crazy good the durability is great now my slash 4x4 on the other hand me and my friendn both bought one and on my friend his gear mesh was off out of the box and mine only one wheel would turn
Damn. Bummer Jang. Should have went with the Hyper 10 TT like I suggested... JK. Love your sincere honesty when it comes to anything R/C related. Keep up the good work. And I will see you on the forums. Take it easy Jang.
@Leprechaun79 I heard the OFNA 10TT is a great track truck but built like the "" XTM FAIL"" Think of this the ofna factory has a TT race ALL TTs and you see like 3-4 DNF in that one factory race... do the math...the vid is on tube somewhere...Seams like from what I have heard its got zero durability.
Next you should review the Traxxas E-MAXX 1/10 brushless edition. I have the flux and i havent had great luck with it, but i was just curious about the BL e-maxx
@somekid908 There is always one 1 thing to consider when buying a High dollar RC. Customer support...Traxxas is pretty much Top Dog that I have seen... But if its got the castle MMM ur dealing with them NOT traxxas. Keep that in mind.
@LiveFreeOrRIP Yes, i am fully aware of that. They use the Mamba Monster Max brushless ESC/Motor combo. I have the slash 4x4 and the stampede 4x4 and i love them both.
The Traxxas Rally VXL is more of a road vehicle, considering it's mainly built for fun asphalt tyopes of racing. It is more of a drift car so you need to stop being so harsh. The car is built for road and smooth dirt, nothing major so don't be harsh if it doesn't perform to YOUR liking. If it's nice on road, say that.
@mxdudeguy45 I will absolutely not stop being harsh. I'm going to say AND show exactly how it performs, both on and off road since there are folks interested in driving it both on and off road! PS: It is not nice on road.
@UltimateRCnetwork I totaly agree Jang you have been doing this long enough and tested/reviewed enough vehicles to clearly know what your talking about. I watch these videos for the hardcore truth not some sugar coated "well it would be ok IF you did this or IF you drive like this". Lay it out the way you see/experienced it thats what I want to hear, thats a review.
@mxdudeguy45 Dude Jang shows his driving on carpet and ON road with Tons of models for Numbers of years.. Why would you question this guy who has innovated 1000s of people to copy his builds and set ups Backslash alone is an RC icon... Jang is pretty much Solid about reviews. And I would say he knows how to set up an RC and do a review. I cant wait for the Full reviews on these RCs.
Well done. It's very refreshing to hear someone with an honest opinion, especially when that opinion won't please the marketing types that work for some of these brands. Keep it up and I'll be back for more. Much better than discussing what might be good about a product and then ignoring or quickly glossing over the faults like some other "notable" reviewers who pump out YouTube video reviews. Your stock just went up a few points.
Geez I enjoy my rally vxl. I just use it as a fun car to drift around on pavement. Interested to hear more of Jangs reasoning on it. I will admit I was really interested in the rail for its durable look and speed. Starting to feel like I know nothing about this hobby again :(

th rally vxl never wowed e or caught my eye, if they came out with some real NEW chassis that was 1/10 scale with licensed replica rally bodies then maybe id look at it but this is one of traxxas's faliures
i say more race kit tests... 8IGHT, MBX6T, DNX408,THE CAR, ect... once people step away from traxxas or HPI and get into race kits they will see there is no need for hop-ups and will never go back.
the race kits make traxxas and HPI look like toy grade RCs. yes they cost more but not in the long run
Awesome Jang...can't wait to see more :) ..but take your time...love the fact that you do an honest and thorough review. Keep up the good fight bro!!!

Interesting. I'm curious to see what didn't work out for you on the Rail. As has been noted, "squirrel" had great luck with his in terms of durability... but his videos aren't as technical or in-depth as yours.
I'd really like to see you review the TQ racing/Team C racing/Ansmann stadium truck and buggy kits. They're cheap and I've heard good things but there's not enough people running them to actually know if they're good or not. You can get the kits on RCMart under the Team C name for $100 a pop. Or on AMain under the Tq name for $160 or so.
Thanks for the update, Jang! I was eyeing some of the models that you have here for review, especially the Traxxas Rally VXL. It's a half-hearted plan to purchase so seeing the driving video made me make up my mind to get something better.
The Exceed RC Dynamite is a surprise indeed! Some of my friends are asking for an inexpensive recommendation and the Exceed might fit that bill. Looking forward to the final reviews! Great job!
I absolutely LOVE my traxxas Ken block rally. I guess the only thing to keep in mind is in it's stock form, it's not a rally car but a drifter. I wanted a drifter so this fit the bill and makes an ass out of the sprint 2 flux out of the box.
who voted for xtm rail...... NOT me. It was obvious when squirrel did his review. most of you guy just blurt out a car or buggy or truck without even looking at LEGIT reviews that legit people have done... Jang is the best we know that but there are others that are very smart about RC open your minds...good work JANGA keepin it real...
It looks like you didnt watch squirrel's review very thoroughly. He said that he was IMPRESSED with how durable the rail was. This is why I'm surprised to hear that Jang has had his break down so much! Maybe Jang got a lemon? Either that, or squirrel got lucky :P
@SgtStinger But sir Yes I did... go check out final review #3 at .45 secs Squirrel says "" We Broke this kit Several times witch is a huge NEGATIVE for the kit""" I'm Not fighting with you just not sure where your getting your info where he said its very durable when he broke it several times...ALL the XTM stuff I have used has either been lemons or breaks to easy...
Yeah, I see what you mean, but on the other hand he also said that he was impressed of how durable it was and how most of the parts that broke, broke when he crashed the rail extremely hard.
@LiveFreeOrRIP actually i did vote for the xtm rail...i wanted to see how it measured up to models like the hpi vorza and such....i did watch squirrels vid about it and he also had trouble with it but he put it through heck jumping it off of rock cliffs and such lol...so i was looking for a more realistic review...but as squirrel said the parts are a little hard to get and they aren't very cheap so for that reason alone i guess this wouldn't be a good model to buy
@kilgoja Hello.. Fine vote for xtm rail.. I would say your crazy to compare it to a Vorza tho.. the vorza is light years ahead of this as far as a track race buggy... witch if your looking at a vorza ur planing to use it on the track right..
@LiveFreeOrRIP well i had thought about getting a 1/8 scaled brushless buggy but the more i think about it i don't want one really...i like to bash mostly and jump so i need monster trucks that can handle rough terrain and big jumps...racing really isn't my thing as there is nowhere to race here...i don't even have a local hobby shop lol..all my models and parts i have to order off the internet....i like models with high ground clearance and alot of shock travel so they don't bottom out on jumps
@kilgoja IMO ur talking about a Brushless E-Maxx or The new Stampede 4x4 vxl. Both are top of the line bash fun trucks. It all depends on your pocket. And I have had THE BEST customer service from Traxxas HANDS DOWN.
Im looking to get a Traxxas E-Maxx Brushless for bashing and other things. I was also looking into the HPI Savage Flux, which one would you recomend. Thank you.
The problem ith a growing market like RC's. You get ot of manufactures trying to make a quick buck by getting us to by their garbage. The more ads I see for a vehicle the less likely I will buy it.
So jang, would prefer the rally emaxx then the ghymkana? Lol nah that pretty much a given. Sux u sold it tho. Also I'm suprised the xtm rail isn't durable. It looks REALLY durable from the eye especially coz of the roll bar.
Too bad that both of the RCs that were voted for a review suck . :D May be next time you should and must choose the kit you are going to buy. That way you won't spend money because of people's beliefs and desires. I am looking forward to see what happend to the XTM Rail. It looks like a decent kit although it may be better.
EXCEED RC! haha r u frigin RETARDED?!?1 my cousin had that model and it broke then put $80 into it to fix it and then right after 4 runs, the motor fried. piece if shit.
@TheCodKiosk opps i forgot his was nitro but still piece of shit. he drove his MONSTER TRUCK into a tree at 1/3 speed and the wheel came out of the wheel well. then i bought my slash & mini e-revo vxl over, drove em into same tre at 3x the speed and fine.
@TheCodKiosk Yes I'm clearly mentally challenged, spending my own money to purchase & properly test a product and share an honest, unbiased review with the community. I clearly am developmentally challenged to test products that viewers ask me to, regardless of the brand name or whether I think or know it'll be good or bad.
@TheCodKiosk hey, you know what, Exceeds arent bad. not to mention, those exceeds are what kits get people into the hobby. yea their toys, and parts break, but SAME WITH HOBBYGRADE KITS. DEAL WITH IT..
BTW, you must have no knowledge whatsoever. frying a motor is usually caused by the owner, not properly maintaining his/her kit, causing the motor to strain.
@traxxasslash26 well seeing as i have been into rc for a year, have a slash, 1/16 e-revo vxl and soon either a slash 4x4 or a 1/10 (really a 1/8) e-revo brushless, i must know something. Oh and btw, exceed rcs r shit. my cousin had one and every time i came over(every 3 or 4 days), It had broken. and the engine fried after him owing it for 4 months. so ya they are shit.
@TheCodKiosk well, seeing that ive been actually rcing for 3 years now, i must have more knowledge than you. owning more kits does not mean you have more knowledge.
Exceeds are great kits. you cant compete with them. their price for their stock parts are incredible. yea, parts are alittle weaker, but what do you expect. its the lower $100s. so what if your cousin broke everything. it could mean your cousin drives like a baby and not care for it, and also, you could just never maintain it.
@traxxasslash26 wel seeing that he might have hit a curb at 1/4 speed then the wheel came off and the nut was tightend all the way. all im saying is from my experience they are shitty. but you may hve had a diffrent experience.
@TheCodKiosk thats usually normal and is not blamed to Exceed. its more of the user not tighening the nut all the way. there is a nylon part, to hold the screw from backing out. Actually, ive never owned a Exceed. more, my friend owning one since he wasnt sure if it was worth paying 500 for a good kit. ive maintained his kit properly and he has not faced issues.
if youve had such bad issues, id reccomend you to clean that kit up, especially if that motor has fried.
can you review the xtm xt2
