All these naysayers, why are they so threatened by our belief in more than they acknowledge to be real? When GOD made the universe it was and remains a marvelous place, filled with many splendid wonders, and even though we corrupted it, it is still very wonderous and amazing. The ability to harness the energetic winds of the cosmos is not new, just new to us as individuals.
Scientific validation and commercialization are not the best strategy. The best aproach is to widely disseminate detailed simple plans for the device using readily available parts that any talented high school kid could put together in the machine shop. Then you'll have thousands running and driving a load. Nobody could then ignore or suppress it or dispose of the inventors.

"free energy" doesn't necessarily mean "clean energy". However in the long run this technology does have hazardous implications, it will create energy raising the net energy on this planet. This is the danger associated with such a technology.
My point was, the first thing he should have thought of was "that is impossible," because it is. You do not have to worry about the hazards of this technology, because it does not exist.
BTW, even if it did exist, the earth is not a closed system, so I do not think heating up the planet would be a problem; energy of various forms is converted to heat all the time, but it leaves the earth as radiation.
I see your point but I still think there would be an adverse affect even when you balance up gains and losses to the system. Radiation is a function of surface temperature of a body which implies an increase in temperature of body to reject the heat produced as a result of this technology.

What they present is fascinating and I have a huge amount of hope for it, but what I've seen doesn't seem practical for any of the larger applications that they're talking about. do your own homework, as you need convincing, not me. I already stated some professors I know have made 3 over unity machines and thousands on forums making Joe Cells. You are tapping into a 'stream' of energy like solar. magnets visibly exert forces when two come together or are thrown apart. This comes from the earths fields, and like solar energy, we tap into it if possible using machines, but we are not creating or destroying energy.

You know, this whole "out of thin air" energy sounds almost like it is dealing with quantum. That's just a wild stab, but on the sub-atomic energy appears and disappears with no apparent cause. I doubt that the process would produce that much energy, but just throwing thoughts out there.

Scientific validation and commercialization are not the best strategy. The best aproach is to widely disseminate detailed simple plans for the device using readily available parts that any talented high school kid could put together in the machine shop. Then you'll have thousands running and driving a load. Nobody could then ignore or suppress it or dispose of the inventors.

People think they know science so they say "this is BS" but in fact they don't know anything about this machine.
Dismissing a thing because it doesn't fit in your preconcieved ideas is not science. For the longest time science could not figure out how bees were able to fly. Physics said it was impossible.
They don't know where the energy comes from, doesn't mean it comes from nowhere. It may not be free energy, but an untapped, finite source.
Free energy or not, keep an open mind.

As somebody fortunate enough to be studying science, I'm stunned by the misinformation, pseudoscience, and lack of understanding that exists about what science can, has, and will eventually do. It's unfortunate that scientists do such a bad job of communicating, and that the media (including pop-sci media) is so hyperbolic in its rhetoric that the general public fails to grasp even scientific fundamentals. Perhaps we need work harder in our PR.

My point was, the first thing he should have thought of was "that is impossible," because it is. You do not have to worry about the hazards of this technology, because it does not exist.
BTW, even if it did exist, the earth is not a closed system, so I do not think heating up the planet would be a problem; energy of various forms is converted to heat all the time, but it leaves the earth as radiation.

I see your point but I still think there would be an adverse affect even when you balance up gains and losses to the system. Radiation is a function of surface temperature of a body which implies an increase in temperature of body to reject the heat produced as a result of this technology.
Just for the record, I seriously doubt this technology exists. Steorn visited my college recently and i was not impressed by their presentation or comments at all.

I've seen a lot of toys and heard a lot of buzz words from Steorn. What they present is fascinating and I have a huge amount of hope for it, but what I've seen doesn't seem practical for any of the larger applications that they're talking about. It seems to me that it would take immensely powerful magnets to pull a car weighing 1 1/2 tons in the manner that they're describing.
There's another fundamental principle that Steorn is challenging: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Yes DrSlang, I agree. Also, magnets decay over time for a variety of reasons including the induction of heat. Power will be required external to the magnet to re-magnetize the thing. Also, in this context, consider the magnet to be like a spring with stored energy. Once the spring is used up (in this case like the magnet), guess what? No more energy. It's fraud and bullshit.

Nikola Tesla did have some great inventions however he knew that the direction some of his discoverys were going had world wide implications of the human species. He knew the frequencies he was working with were the same frequencies the human brain functions in and he was scared that his work would be used for mind control, war, etc.. Maybe he knew the worlds conciousness wasn't ready yet. To this day I percieve it still isn't.

Tesla is the most overly romanticized scientist in history. He was brilliant, but people who are wowed by sparks and man-made lightning bolts give him far more credit than is deserved (and he deserves a lot). We've understood most of his work for a long time now, and in spite of his brilliance, there are scientists before and after who were far more important. I'm looking at you, Faraday.
