This is one of the best most enjoyable runs I have seen. I go the the Ariat Slide show in Tulsa, Ok every year, but the song, the attitude, the gun at the end, makes it all come together pefectly. The horse did an amazing job, with minor errors. I think the only thing that could have made it any better was if she shot the gun off the horse...I don't think he would agree though. I ride english, western, barrels, fox hunt, mounted shooting, and have had the pleasure of riding a few reining horses.

@charmed6057 It's something we've wanted to do for a while. Our connemara has a VERY laid-back temperment so he'd be perfect for it. I think the coordination will be difficult to begin with, seeing as I have hardly any (especially on the ground) :P

I love this horse. He's beautiful. I cant wait to begin training my horse to reign. And the rider, I personally like her attitude. If you know anything about riding a horse, then you should know that it's good to sit like youre better than everybody else, especially when you show. It makes you look confident and gives you better balance.

Overall, this was pretty good. Her stops and flying lead changes were amazing. I just personally don't like the way the horse carries it's head and that it seems to have a habit of leaping into its spins.

pretty good? that is one of the best reining horses out there today. the way he carries his head is actually how they are supposed to carry their head, low and all about business. the best part? its totally natural. he was leaping into his spins because he was being slightly rushed through a freestyle that was just for fun.

Personally, I don't think this horse was carrying its head low. It looks rather high, and he sticks his nose way outward. Yes, he was rushed, but true reining horses are suppose to be calm always. That is why u often see in reining patterns a pause where the rider shifts their saddle or something of the sort. Therefore, I don't believe this horse is one of the best overall reining horses, but I have to say that from what I've seen, it does have some of the best sliding stops.

of course his head is a bit higher than it would be in a bridle, but its still not high. 'true reining horses' are not nessicarily always calm, its about how under control they are and how well they respond the the rider and of course how the rider cues the horse. because you have only seen this one video of this horse doing a freestyle reining for fun, you will justify the caliber of horse he is? lol.

I didn't say calmness is a necessity, but it's definately prefered. Horses with higher levels of energy generally lead to anticipation and problems. You may disagree, but that is why everyone is different. This is my opinion, so why are you getting so worked up about it?
