CFC Registers Stolen Gun Repeatedly

How much months u get or years if u get caught with a gun? Do bullets add up to the years or months?

I had bought a Over/Under 12Ga and had to return the firearm due to the fact It had a manufacturing flaw. Two months later I found out the firearm was still registered in my name even though CFC had told me over the phone the transfer had been completed. What if someone had committed a crime with that firearm? .... I have heard of firearms being registered to two or more people at a time and worse.

I'm only guessing but wouldn't criminals be bringing any kind of gun they want accross the border from the US? meaning the only people registering their guns are the ones least likey to use them in crime.How does that make anyone safer?

@shazdee You are 100% correct.  Tracking the law-abiding doesn't do anything to keep people safer. But it DOES waste $100 million dollars every year to track the people who are NOT the problem.

We don't bother keeping track of the people who are the problem, like violent criminals. It doesn't have to make sense. It's government policy.

Having the ability to own firearms, and having the ability to freedom of religion are two freedoms that should not be infringed on by government.

I also don't see how age is a factor in any of this. Some people seem to think age is somehow proportionate to responsibility in all cases.. I am 18 as well, own several firearms, employed as a Commercial pilot, and have been flying since 15..

The round was used during WWII, but my dad owns a 30-06 hunting rifle. It's a bolt action, he used to hunt moose with it.

So it's been...30 + years that he's owned it without commiting murder.
