I saw the movie like a month ago when it was on TV, didn't know any prior information about it so what I saw was very interesting and different. Reminded me a bit of the spanish movie "Before the fall".
Why the hell would they pump gas into the house in the first place??? The whole fucking city is covered in ash! He would have died anyway. If I was him, I would have killed the soldiers. (My house is like an armory, lots and lots of ammo+guns) Was it so hard to try and make an antidote for him? We have those for almost every type of poison, nerve agent, gases, etc... known to man. So why did they need to gas him out? Jesus Christ!

It was contaminated and because he had sealed himself in, the microbes reproduced with no dilution or competition and eventually mutated into a different, deadlier germ that they didn't have the vaccines for. Since he was going to die anyways they decided to gas the whole house to kill the bacteria because if he would have gone outside and spread it around everybody would have died.
They put the gas in the house to eliminate the virus inside his house. The ash his wife threw inside his house started to grow, making his house a huge storage for that virus. If he opened the doors, the shit would start rolling the streets and people who's infection hasn't gone far yet would breath the air that came from his house and get sick enough to not be able to save. The gas killed the guy and the packages of virus inside his house.

This movie did not suck, and just because it did not follow everyother zombie movie/thrill, which in my opinion are all very simular, dosnt make it bad. I thought the movie was unique. Also, its a survival movie, what story line does it have to follow? Not everything includes blowing up and gun fire.
they sealed him beacause in the movie the wife breaks the window (screen door) beacuse she wants to be inside. so to close that crack up he put a red towel and taped it. so during the movie the towel collects all the crap from outside and it become a breeding zone. basically his whole entire house beacome a breeding zone. so when they take sample of it they realize that is s more worse and he became a part of that breeding of the germ gas contagious thingy so they lock him up and kill him =]
And the fact that he was trying to get out at the end doesn't mean he was selfish either.
The point was that there was still a chance for him to live if people tried hard enough to save him.
I think he was the victim of selfishness. His wife's selfishness killed him; and society murdered him instead of trying to help him.
There was no medical treatment available when his wife was outside the door. But there was medical help at the end. They give him the big "Fuck You". Very sad.
Despite a couple mistakes it was an awesome movie. Though they should've used a bacterium instead of a virus, that way the pathogen would've actually replicated without a human host...i think, I'm no microbiologist, though.
If that chick is realy supposed to be his wife, then he will open the door and suffer a shared fate with her.

It's a great film,I can't believe this didn't play in theaters,I rented it,now I want a copy of my own!,it's one of the most horrifying films ever made..don't watch it alone!.I think it was 'too real' for theaters that's why it didn't get released in them.

@podum77 i thought it was pretty sad, it was a bigggg twist. ************SPOILER ALERT********** DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANNA FUCK UP THE MOVIE ENDING!!! but yeah basically sealing himself in created a breeding ground for the virus n he was a lethal carrier, far worse than his wife. which switched things like 180, it was pretty bad imo. wish he woulda made a last stand n messed up some of those soldiers but meh. still, i found it quite sad.

I just finished watching this on BBC 1 ihave to say it's very good, not like most disaster movies this one seems to be more realistic, and the ending pheeew that was good, I love thrillers but only tend to watch them once

This movie did not suck, and just because it did not follow everyother zombie movie/thrill, which in my opinion are all very simular, dosnt make it bad. I thought the movie was unique. Also, its a survival movie, what story line does it have to follow? Not everything includes blowing up and gun fire.

This has been flagged as spam show
they sealed him beacause in the movie the wife breaks the window (screen door) beacuse she wants to be inside. so to close that crack up he put a red towel and taped it. so during the movie the towel collects all the crap from outside and it become a breeding zone. basically his whole entire house beacome a breeding zone. so when they take sample of it they realize that is s more worse and he became a part of that breeding of the germ gas contagious thingy so they lock him up and kill him =]

For everybody who says Brad was selfish.......you're being very narrow-minded.
In reality it was actually his wife's own selfishness that killed him.
As far as they knew, the facts were that she was infected and he was not. So he was supposed to commit suicide just because she might die?
If she hadn't been selfish, then they both would've lived.
It was a good movie. It showed the difficult decisions people have to make in tragic situations.
And the ending, I thought, was good.

The point was that there was still a chance for him to live if people tried hard enough to save him.
I think he was the victim of selfishness. His wife's selfishness killed him; and society murdered him instead of trying to help him.
There was no medical treatment available when his wife was outside the door. But there was medical help at the end. They give him the big "Fuck You". Very sad.

Despite a couple mistakes it was an awesome movie. Though they should've used a bacterium instead of a virus, that way the pathogen would've actually replicated without a human host...i think, I'm no microbiologist, though.

It's low budget yes but it's phenominally acted it just goes to show you that a big budget is not needed to make a good thriller. Plus if anything this movie is anti-government so this movie would turn more people away from bush then to him. Most of you saying this is fascist propaganda are probably basing this on the trailer, Watch the film and you'll see it's about how the government doesn't do $hit and you can't rely/trust them. The movie to me seemed like a metaphor for hurricane Katrina

when the lady broke in the glass she let in the toxic stuff, and since everything was locked down inside it multiplyed, so at the end they had to kill him so he wouldnt spred it. it was funny how the lady said we did everything we could to help your husband but all they did was lock him in and poisen him. it bothers me how she is outside the whole time in the germs, and he is in lock down mode inside yet she lives and the people are saying youll be fine.
