I think Ryu's fireballs aren't too effective. the reason being is that they are more punishable than other spammers such as Sagat or Guile. Plus I think Honda spams his headBUTT too much. so I think fireballs are but necessary on Ryu to prevent at least those "almost unavoidable" massive-ass grabbers, such Abel himself, from depleting your life bar with just three to four special grabs.

You know in SFIII fireball spam doesn't work well, good parriers will punish that annoying tactic quite well. (Fireball spam is neither fun to watch, nor fun to play against. It's obnoxious.)

But in this game fireball spam seems to work way to often.

I'd say therefor SFIII > SFIV easily.

Although as I got older I more and more started to wonders why fighting games even HAVE projectiles. That has NOTHING to do with actual fights. Gravity defying kung fu, sure? But fireballs? What is this DBZ?

And yeah I know this will bait some fucktard who'll snerk about how I can't beat fireball spammers. Fuck, I've beaten fireball spammers. Sure, lost to them too, but I don't necessarily always lose to them. I just HATE them. They're not FUN to fight.

I don't mind losing if I have FUN, but if I don't have fun, then fuck even winning just isn't that great. I did recently crush a fireball spamming Sagat with Bison, but that match just wasn't fun at all. It was a timing excersize.

@tomoyoshi1990 He buffered the motion. He threw out fireballs to see how'd react. After noticing Abel likes to focus, he threw fireballs and buffered the super motion. Once he saw something all he had to do was press fierce punch
