I miss the elementalist UWSC days. And in this video I was demonstrating a beginner's build. Other variations require more skill like grouping the enemies together for Radiation Field and the like.

Do not use sliver in the beginning aggro (from :10 to :30). Sometimes it kills the monster with ss on it and delays the time it takes to take down the initial mob. Just use rad field. And I would recommend taking rad field instead of By Ural's Hammer.

you dont need feigned at alll if you tank them the right way open tanking is so much longer to kill and they do damage i might get 100damage after all smites are on me and killed them all in second room, i should post my videos

You have to be careful with the frozen burst. Try to use feigned neutrality to reduce the damage.

I think the coldfires also tend to use frozen burst if you're moving.

Avoid the coldfires by staying away from them, they wont try to charge u simplely to use frozen burst. If they block a path, aggro them and run away, this should cause the path to become unblocked

P.S. getting caught in a frozen burst with smites taking dmg as well will most likely result in death from smite hex

Well Anet just released an update yesterday that nerfed Shadow Form. I'm still looking to see if this farm still works or not.

It's still possible to maintain Shadow Form permanently, but it's very hard on the energy.

It's impossible to run anything other than an assassin primary without running a net energy loss now.

However, you will often need to wait for your energy to regen.

You don't need any rank in vanguard really. It just makes you kill them faster.

And Shadow Form lasts 27 seconds at 13 shadow arts. With a 20% enchanting weapon that's 27 + (20%*27) = 32.4 seconds

You don't have to put any if you don't want to as it is not required but you can only put one Aeromancer Insignia for each piece of armor.

Yes, many people don't use "By Ural's Hammer!" since it's an optional skill. Some other choices are Intensity, Radiation Field, and Glyph of Swiftness. You should always keep Ebon Battle Standard on your bar.

Yep this most recent update on 11/6/08 added a stealth update to Essence of Celerity. However, Regina (Anet Community Manager) said that the Essence change was not intended to be in this update but in the update on 11/13/08. We'll just have to wait and see if they do implement the changes.

If they do change Essence of Celerity, there are three possible ways around it.

1) Play using the normal bars, but bring attribute boosting consumables (such as candy corn) so that you can maintain Shadow Form.

2) Run Glyph of Swiftness, replacing a unnecessary skill such as "By Ural's Hammer!" or Dark Escape.

3) Run A/E's for the terras. This will enable players to have a higher shadow arts attribute, allowing them to maintain Shadow Form. However, this results in less damage.

It could but it's not as effective since all the terrorweb dryders need to be in adjacent range. Radiation field affects enemy within ward range. Also it's possible to inflict -10 degen from Radiation field (Disease plus the degen effect from Radiation field) on the dryders instead of just -4 degen from Poison from Viper's Defense.

Deadly Paradox (33% faster skill recharge), Essence of Celerity (25% faster skill recharge) and Grail of Might (+1 to all attributes) enable you to have unlimited shadow form.

Yes, the first group of smites I kill in this video is the general area where the Ice King spawns. Watch part 2 and you'll see exactly where he is after I take the quest.

Nope. You have the clear the top area that the coldfires patrol as well as all the smite crawlers on that level. This will make sure no enemies are there when the Ice King spawns. You will also have to clear the reaper area but make sure you kill the terrorwebs last.

I actually do take radiation field now instead of By Ural's Hammer =). By Ural's Hammer is easier for people to manage though. When I first started using radiation I had troubles with energy, but all you have to do is use glyph of lesser energy before using it and not to spam it all the time.

Very nice! I just hope that videos for pools and mnts will appear soon. Oh and also nice info on the general basis of a UW SC. Im sure it would help a lot of new-timers... (train before going in experienced SC groups btw!!!!!!!!!) :P
