I've never figured out why Yuu is playing the violin. As far as I could tell from the anime, he doesn't really have any musical experience.

However, for the sake of YuuxYuuko, it does a good job for this prologue with the accompaniment.

An underrated gem of an anime.

I love the way the director (Shin Onuma) handled the entire series. He made a miracle out of the whole thing with a top tier screenplay to boot. The anime focused on the theme of miracles and Onuma along with the writer handled it with care without being overtly preachy and melodramatic. I was also fixated on the art direction. It had such a "European" look and feel to it as opposed to other animes having deeply-rooted Asian ones. Oh, and Tenmon is a genius

I don't think so. You can obviously hear pieces of either as reoccurring themes, but this mix itself I do not think is on any soundtrack. Unless they do something like Fate/stay night did and release an "off tracks" album.
