"Tonight her beautiful interior may crash and turn to ash" is talking about how during his reign there was a fire that burn Rome down, since Rome was all built in wood at the time, it's rumored that he started the fire because he had intentions of rebuilding Rome and turning it into an all marble beauty instead of wood. And the reason they bash on Nero is because he persecuted Christians, and murdered his mother and his wife.

He went overboard with hysteria and paranoia and killed anyone who he thought was against him, which he also thought was pretty much everyone. Oh and he also spent tons of money on random junk. At first Rome thought he was a great choice, but after like a day everyone wanted him to die i'm sure, and eventually they did kill him. I think it was at one of his favorite plays.
