I have this guitar! Really ool! Only thing i have ever wanted to be different about it would be the headstock! Maybe a bit wider and it would be perfect, but i still love it :D
okay can not decide between the accusic guitar version or electric guitar version do you think the electric would sound as good unplugged as the accustic version cuz i primarly play accustic but also have some friends in a band so the ability to amplify is always a plus.
I've tried out the electric version - using it acoustically without an amplifier - and it sounds quite good acoustically, I think its about the same as the acoustic sounds.
I am a proud owner and yes it's great . But i think people should know that it doesn't carry out harmonics like a regular full body acoustic guitar. So if you are into soft melodies you might not like tone quality of this guitar.
Hey, I need some help here. I bought a Godin 5th Avenue CW Kingpin,...it has 2 pickups and a cut-away. I've been looking for videos of it on youtube and everything and I havn't found ANY video of it! Does no one have it?!?
That's the 5th Avenue Kingpin, which has a P90-ish pickup. This video is for the purely acoustic 5th Avenue. FYI, the price on both models should drop soon because a lot of people are going to sell them and buy Kingpin IIs.
It would be better to not be so obviously reading the cue cards to the left of the camera. It is a bit disconcerting for the viewer. Makes us feel like looking over our left shoulder to see what you are looking at. ; )
Hi ! For the moment, I've never seen a bad Godin. Got one Multiac Duet, and it's my best guitar, far . The next guitar that I'll buy will probably be another Godin, that's sure, but probably an electric one with a Piezo, probably a Jazz one with both, a mic. and a piezo. BYE !
There are at least two archtop "floating" ebony bridges with a piezo in them, one from Schatten and one from Fishman. I got the Schatten for a spruce-top Hofner J5N I'm using, it's nicely compensated, wereas the Fishman is a DIY "block" you can cut as you like.
can anybody tell me what kind of strings should we use for archtop guitars? would standard flatwound strings work? thanks!

sounds like a regular dreadnought with VERY old strings.....

How does one of these things compare in volume to a flattop Dreadnought Acoustic guitar?

thats not affordable, on craigslist you can get a real 50's-60's kay or harmony for 50-250$ and then you actually have a old one

Beautiful to look at and well made. If the neck width was a tad smaller and with the larger frets it would be that much better consideration for me.

Oh god I hope I get one for my birthday soon.
It plays so well, it sounds soooo good, but it's way to expensive. 825$ and we don't have a lot of money.
But I keep my prayers high.

Thanks for the reviews.
One bit of advice for the video though:

@mateo2006 Definitely...no point in having the video if that's what you're going to do. We can read the reviews online...nice playing though!
