  • Loved your video! I'm walking The 3 Day in San Diego this November and your video helped prepare me mentally. Thank you!

  • way to go! Look for me at Camp... I'll be working Camp Logistics Crew this year (again)... walking in Seattle. GOOD LUCK! :-)

  • my neighbor did it last year and she says the exact same thing..."you'll never be the same"

  • awesome, I'm doing my first walk this August. Any tips? hoping to take video along the way so we'll see what I can do!

  • My tips start here...

It's fun... don't stress over it EVER!

Don't be shy to ask people for donations. You're making a huge committment and it's awesome!

Be prepared to have your world rocked by a breathtaking and awe-inspiring experience

Be prepared to see things you never thought you'd see and be inspired like you've never been inspired before

    BUY GOOD SOCKS

Slather vaseline on your toes... sounds gross, but when you're walking feels sooooo good :-)

  • Talk to the other thousands of awesome inspiring people devoted to the cause on the way... the more the better. The stories you'll hear... The friends you'll make...

If you're even considering skipping camp and staying at a hotel, stop thinking it immediately... Camp is probably one of the greatest parts of the whole experience!

  • Train on hills - You think I'm talking about going up... I'm not! Train yourself how to walk DOWN hill when you are exhausted (not as easy as you think, but will save your life)

Get used to porta-potties - Do your squats when your legs are tired and do them for a LONG time! You will thank me for that one when you don't have to sit on a porta seat because you just can't hold the squat as long as you need to to completely relieve all that fluid!

  • Bring extra memory cards and batteries for your camera. You'll need them... but don't forget to take it all in lens-less sometimes because it's those views you'll truly remember... the pics are just reminders

If you can bring music and strap it to a camel pack or something, you'll be one of the most popular people on the route... I tried to stay with the walking boom boxes as much as possible... you'd be surprised what doesn't hurt so bad when you're distracted by music!

  • Embrace the community and crew out there supporting you... they can't be beat! they make it worthwhile... hell they make it POSSIBLE!

Don't be too proud to take a sweep van if you're injured, particularly in the first day or two. Crossing the finish is what counts and you can't do it with a serious injury

  • I promise you, you will not physically hurt at closing ceremonies but you will cry. If you don't, you missed out. Screw tissue - they give you a long sleeve Tee at the end for a damn good reason! haha! Directly after, go ahead and hit the ibuprofen before the adreneline wears off ;-)

Above all, HAVE THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE! YOU WILL NOT EXPERIENCE ANYTHING LIKE THIS UNTIL YOU DO IT AGAIN!!!

So what's your donation site??? Feel free to post it!!! Good Luck!!!
