Johto will always be my favorite. Not yet crazy with new pokemon, but the first to let you cross through countries and basically say "Hey you beat the Elite Four :D Now get 8 more badges and do it again ;D."
It felt like a real adventure, and Silver was the only one I ever got close to completing my pokedex legitimately (249/250, missing Mew bc no one in town had one... had over 250 hrs in it).
I love the pic at 1:11. The only thing that is epic about it is that all the champions have one of their pokemon in it, but Red isn't there. just his Pikachu with the hat. kinda eerie...
Steven is the best champion, imo. In the game, he was helpful (Emerald all the way!), he's humble, very powerful, and gave me the most trouble out of every champion in all the versions. He's amazing even in comic series. He sacrificed his life to save the world (then was thankfully revived). Eff yeah, Steven! <3

why do people complain that alder isn't there? he isn't anywhere near epic enough to be in these pictures. that's why they invited cynthia, because they needed a champion that didn't suck.
This was part of my reasoning...As much as Wallace was abit uh non-epic... He actually had a decent lineup for the champion battle (gyarados/ludicolo etc) and he wasn't pushed to the side at the end of the game like Alder was by N...Plus, I don't really like Alder, sorry to all the fans who do. The other reason was there simply weren't that many good pics of Alder when I uploaded.

@roxasvanitas1 I guess we have a diferent sense regards to epicness. They wanted a champion diferent from all the others before, and they did it, and it worked pretty well. Maybe one day you see it too, I didn't accepted that right the way as well. Took me months.
@LeandroValentine yeah the problem is, you can barely call a character in a pokemon game "epic" because the game lacks a real story (or a lot of stuff are just implied... like the fact you apparently killed one of blue's pokemon on that boat or w/e...)
His theme and his battle sucks, storywise he is just the typycal old guy cheering for the new generation and talking about all that kind heart and love stuff.
As a kid, Blue as a champion was epic, cause he was an ass, unexpected and kinda strong

Since... 3rd gen they tried to get some story in these pokemon games, to be honest, it was quite a failure in most of them, because its way too childish/simple for a grown up, and kids doesnt give a fuck about story anyway so.
It sure tends to get better, they try to get a better storyline everygame... but its still far from being an important aspect of the game

to be honest i couldn't care less about b/w story, it wasnt that good, i liked it more in the first 2 gens when it was like "yo kid, go catch em all, fuck up team rocket on the way because they're mean and everything and good luck becoming the champ"
@L4K1NG Pokemon B/W is well known and recognized in the game community for being the first pokemon game (of the main series) with an actual plot, and not just the same boring stuff.
I found it really awesome, and it brought back many fans who got tired of the same boring stuff (including my girlfriend and my sister).
@L4K1NG I will admit the plot in RBY was really contextual. The "bring down a multi-million dollar crime organization" being the second-most intended concept, the foremost ideal was to venture out and become the best trainer there is. There also, along the way, specifically in Cinnabar's abandoned mansion, when you discover Mewtwo's destruction of the plant at which it was created. Centrally, the plot is about simply becoming the best you can be and taking down whatever tries to blockade you.
@shamrin705 That being said, the plot focused entirely on the development of the character and the bond with the companions he made- its a plot designed to build character among children.
In terms of battling, battle music and design I think anybody would be a better champion than the clown, but In terms of plot involvement and his sort of "eye contact" theme he's probably the best. Wallace and steven are my favorites however.

Pretty much every Champion since Red and Green was on their own personal journey of enlightenment. Not sure what that has to do with Alder being epic. Although I disliked Pearl and Diamond, Cynthia is my favorite champion.

I never said anything about it being Alder's first journey. From what I understood he was going through some rough times and decided to depart on perhaps another journey of enlightenment, and as the main character, you helped him achieve that new enlightenment.
I don't really remember what Cynthia, Silver, or Steve were doing in their respective games as I haven't played them in so long T_T, but I'm sure most of it was veiled to keep the player interested.

I'd would like a Generation where you could have such an EPIC batlle as Red's one in G/S but against all Champions.

@chaowalker Press Print Screen on the video, crop the image in your favourite image editor(E.G. Paint), save it with the name you want, then go to Google, go to Images, and drag the image you just saved into the search bar, google will look for the image according to the bitmap.

why do people complain that alder isn't there? he isn't anywhere near epic enough to be in these pictures. that's why they invited cynthia, because they needed a champion that didn't suck.

This was part of my reasoning...As much as Wallace was abit uh non-epic... He actually had a decent lineup for the champion battle (gyarados/ludicolo etc) and he wasn't pushed to the side at the end of the game like Alder was by N...Plus, I don't really like Alder, sorry to all the fans who do. The other reason was there simply weren't that many good pics of Alder when I uploaded.

Alder is probably the strongest and wiser champion so far. Not only for his age, but he is a person who have been through a lot, and yet, he's kind and humble.
And also, he doesn't just sit in the pokemon league waiting for you. He's always in a journey of learning and understanding.
So before you call someone like Alder "not-epic", think again.

@LeandroValentine none of those things makes someone epic. and he's not stronger than red. frankly, cynthia in her strongest form could beat him as well, and every champion is on a journey at some point, except maybe lance. and how is he wise? he thought N was just some misguided brat, and look how that turned out. alder got his ass handed to him. i know all about his character, kid; he's just not all that impressive. but most importantly, his theme sucks.

@roxasvanitas1 I guess we have a diferent sense regards to epicness. They wanted a champion diferent from all the others before, and they did it, and it worked pretty well. Maybe one day you see it too, I didn't accepted that right the way as well. Took me months.

@LeandroValentine yeah the problem is, you can barely call a character in a pokemon game "epic" because the game lacks a real story (or a lot of stuff are just implied... like the fact you apparently killed one of blue's pokemon on that boat or w/e...)
His theme and his battle sucks, storywise he is just the typycal old guy cheering for the new generation and talking about all that kind heart and love stuff.
As a kid, Blue as a champion was epic, cause he was an ass, unexpected and kinda strong

@LeandroValentine I wouldnt say it lacks a story (had no room left to write q_q) but it sure does lacks a good one.
Since... 3rd gen they tried to get some story in these pokemon games, to be honest, it was quite a failure in most of them, because its way too childish/simple for a grown up, and kids doesnt give a fuck about story anyway so.
It sure tends to get better, they try to get a better storyline everygame... but its still far from being an important aspect of the game

@LeandroValentine and the biggest downside to these story is maybe all that implied stuff... i mean, story is not even that important most of the time and they still try to play it smoothly with implied stuff or even stuff left unknown.
to be honest i couldn't care less about b/w story, it wasnt that good, i liked it more in the first 2 gens when it was like "yo kid, go catch em all, fuck up team rocket on the way because they're mean and everything and good luck becoming the champ"

@L4K1NG Pokemon B/W is well known and recognized in the game community for being the first pokemon game (of the main series) with an actual plot, and not just the same boring stuff.
I found it really awesome, and it brought back many fans who got tired of the same boring stuff (including my girlfriend and my sister).
But again, that's my opinion xD

@L4K1NG I will admit the plot in RBY was really contextual. The "bring down a multi-million dollar crime organization" being the second-most intended concept, the foremost ideal was to venture out and become the best trainer there is. There also, along the way, specifically in Cinnabar's abandoned mansion, when you discover Mewtwo's destruction of the plant at which it was created. Centrally, the plot is about simply becoming the best you can be and taking down whatever tries to blockade you.

In terms of battling, battle music and design I think anybody would be a better champion than the clown, but In terms of plot involvement and his sort of "eye contact" theme he's probably the best. Wallace and steven are my favorites however.

Pretty much every Champion since Red and Green was on their own personal journey of enlightenment. Not sure what that has to do with Alder being epic. Although I disliked Pearl and Diamond, Cynthia is my favorite champion.

@Xyfar Really? Because the only times I saw Cynthia, Steven or any other champion, they were just acting cool somewhere. Lance is an exeption tho, he actualy helps against team rocket and THAT'S what a champion is suppose to do (although this is just my opinion).
Besides, that wasn't Alder's first journey. The guy is old, dude. If you can't catch anything from it, them maybe this isn't for you to understand. Btw, my fav champion is Steven, and I don't like 3rd gen.

I never said anything about it being Alder's first journey. From what I understood he was going through some rough times and decided to depart on perhaps another journey of enlightenment, and as the main character, you helped him achieve that new enlightenment.
I don't really remember what Cynthia, Silver, or Steve were doing in their respective games as I haven't played them in so long T_T, but I'm sure most of it was veiled to keep the player interested.

I'd would like a Generation where you could have such an EPIC batlle as Red's one in G/S but against all Champions.
But I would also like that you could use no legendary Pokemon or items, and that you couldn`t change your Pokemon after defeating it's opponent. Obviusly lvl 100
That would be relly hard. And obviusly Red would kick our asses really hard.
