  • I just hope that when people read this, they don't just jump to Saw wiki and then say, 'But Adam is dead.' or 'The shackle on the wrong foot was a director mistake' etc and so on.

Yes, we know this. Yes the wiki's have written out the stories for us and had other fans add their 2c also.

All we ask is that you have watched all seven films, then read this script in full as a continuation.

After that, see if things make a little more sense over all. Was it enjoyable, did we miss something? etc.

  • I'd like to read this, but it's REALLY hard to read on YouTube. The text looks all stretched and weird, and I keep having to pause it. I don't think I have the patience to try to read all of this on YouTube. Have you considered just putting your text and images up on a webpage, instead of only having the video?

  • @ChaosRocket

    Howdy ChaosRocket.

In the description I put a link to a PDF file so that it is easier for people to read. They can just download the PDF and read is much easier. :)

I hope that helps you out a bit and I am hope you enjoy. :)

  • @GoHAddOn Wait, why would John say he's fairly certain the key would go down the drain? I thought he meant for that key to be put around Adam's neck, but Amanda didn't follow instructions and just chucked it on his chest. I was hoping for an explanation of how John really thought the trap would play out- I always wondered why did he even give Adam the key? And would having the key get them out? Wasn't the door to the bathroom locked anyways?

  • @ChaosRocket

    Best to read on.

John provides a couple of different ways out. The key was given in Saw 1, so there is not much I can do about that but try to work it in to the story. Had I had written Saw 1, there would have been no key.

The door doesn't appear to be locked, from what I can tell through all seven films, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be locked.

If you watch Saw 1, the door slides opens one way but Gordon pushes on it the other way.

  • @ChaosRocket

Like you, I too wondered about the key in Saw 1 and thought it was just a stupid thing to do.

But because it is in there, I have tried to work it in to the story. John Kramer, being someone who anticipates and likes to play games etc... Well, it just feels right that he would anticipate that the key would go down the drain due to how groggy Adam is, however, he decides to test his theory and place it in the game.

Gordon pushing on the sliding door in the opposite way also fits.

  • @GoHAddOn Yeah, I know no one knows why he gave him the key, I just thought it would be nice if someone came up with a reason- it's the kind of thing I'd want to know in another Saw installment.

But still, Amanda messed up the trap. At first I thought she messed up the placement of the key, but I looked it up and realized that she tied the stopper to his foot when she wasn't supposed to. So I don't see why John would expect the key to go down the drain. He didn't know Amanda messed up

  • @ChaosRocket

    I don't know about that...

I don't see that mentioned anywhere in the films.

Sure it may be written somewhere by someone, but I didn't see it in the films and I am going by the films.

  • @ChaosRocket

Still, that doesn't make sense any way. If she was supposed to not tie the stopper to his foot (not that I have read this anywhere, just going by what you said), then he would get the key and be out in no time.

So I don't even accept that.

In any case, I think John Kramer is smart enough to want to try to see how far he can anticipate the human mind. Working the key in to it to test out a theory of his, for me, works. If you have another way it could work, let me know though. :)

  • @GoHAddOn On the Saw Wiki, it says, "According to the original script, Amanda tied the cord to the bathtub stopper to Adam's ankle (not instructed by Jigsaw to do so) and tossed the key on his stomach before leaving the room after turning the light out." And why would John tell Adam the key was in the bathtub if he thought it went down the drain? I agree it doesn't make sense, but then it doesn't even make sense why he gave him the key at all. But that's what the Saw Wiki says.

  • @ChaosRocket

Doesn't say it on Wiki, says it on the sawfilms.wikia - Wikia being able to be edited by anyone, much like wiki unfortunately.

But either way, if it was in the original script, I can see why it was taken out... and I am still going by what the movies show us. Which shows us a) There was a key thrown in the bath. b) It went down the drain and c) John tells Adam the key was in the bathtub.

John tells Adam there was a key because there was a key...

  • @GoHAddOn

... And since there was a key, and the information about Amanda was not in the films, in the script I've written, I have attempted to make it all part of John's plan. He is a smart man, and it isn't outside of his character to attempt to see how far he can anticipate choices made and actions made by his test subjects.

I do hope you are not just stuck on this whole key thing because there is a lot more of the script than just that. :)

BTW, there is a forth revision on the way. :)

  • @GoHAddOn But doesn't he say "The key IS in the bathtub" and not "The key WAS in the bathtub"? But yeah, I understand if you only want to pay attention to stuff that is right there in the movies. Anyways, I'm almost done reading your script.

  • @ChaosRocket

Well the key still is in the bathtub, just down the drain pipe. :)

I hope you are enjoying the script and not just held up on the key thing.

The key thing is a minor detail really. Regardless of Amanda, John, whatever, it still ends up down the drain pipe. =)

  • @GoHAddOn Yeah, the key thing is a minor detail. I don't mean to seem hung up on it, I was just trying to explain what I meant. Out of curiosity, are you and/or the other person who wrote this a Chainshipper? I'm not a Chainshipper, but I was just wondering because I get kind of a Chainshipper vibe from the script.

  • @ChaosRocket

I have no idea what a Chainshipper is... going to have to google that one.

So I guess the answer to that is no. lol.

And with the key, I knew what you meant, and was also trying to explain what I meant and hope I was able to. :)

Hopefully didn't come across negatively or fighting with you or anything. Apologies if I did come across that way though. :)

  • @GoHAddOn

Basically, we are Saw fans. Saw the last movie, Saw 3D and thought, what a pile of shit....

Thought, there is so much left unanswered...

Then decided to write it ourselves.

But since Saw3D was cannon, we had to work with that... and the Saw games dealt with Det. Tapp, so tried to not mess with that either.

  • @ChaosRocket

Just read up on your Chainshipper thing.

Seems like a bit of an insult actually.

This script is nothing about Adam and Lawrence screwing each other.

I personally am a 35 year old male.

There is nothing Chainshipper within the script. I don't know why you are getting that vibe or where from.

  • @GoHAddOn I didn't mean it as an insult. Like I said, I'm not a Chainshipper, but I don't have a problem with Chainshipping, a ton of people in Saw fandom like it. I'm not sure what your age and gender have to do with it, people of any age or gender could like Chainshipping. The script just has a lot of stuff with Gordon and Adam wanting to save and help each other and being really friendly and running off together near the end and it seemed like something Chainshippers would like.

  • @ChaosRocket

Reading up on what Google says about Chainshippers, it's claims they're usually 16 year old females obsessed with Leigh Whannel.

We tried to keep the characters in character. Adam and Gordon went through a lot together and built a relationship within the bathroom. We extended upon this. It seemed out of character for Gordon and Adam to hate each other after that experience.

  • @ChaosRocket

Well, if ''chainshippers'' like the fact that we kept Gordon and Adam in character, then great.

But we are also hoping that non-chainshippers would like the fact that we kept Gordon and Adam in character too.

In Saw3D, Gordon seemed so out of character so we had to build a backstory which connected Gordon prior to the bathroom, right throughout the entire movies and to what he was shown to be like in Saw3D.

But we also wanted to keep his relationship he built with Adam.

  • @GoHAddOn People who say that- that they're "all 16 year old girls obsessed with Whannel"- are generally people who hate Chainshipping or shipping in general. I don't like any shippings in Saw at all, but I like shippings in other fandoms, and I'm also in my 30s.

Personally, I think Gordon didn't care about Adam at all because he left him in the bathroom to die. It's possible Adam's alive but I think the movies were meant to imply he's dead, and the official Saw site said he's dead.

  • @ChaosRocket

I had no idea what Chainshipping was until I googled it and that's what google told me it was.

He didn't leave Adam in the bathroom to die. He said he will be back, he promises. He sent John Kramer back to get him. ...okay... I am presuming you read the script so I shouldn't have to be typing this.

And yes the official saw site says he is dead... again... you read the script and it explains how he survives...

    Anyway, thank you for reading.

  • @GoHAddOn Yeah I get that he didn't do that in your script. I was just saying that based solely on the canon movies, I feel like Gordon didn't care about Adam at all. Like I said, it wasn't meant to be any insult to you or your writing...a person could write a script that contains romance between two characters without it being a "16 year old love story."

  • @ChaosRocket

Sorry just having flash backs to a forum conversation I was having the other week. Someone was attempting to debate my script, had not even read it, and was just throwing saw wikia's and cannon saw feeds at me. I was like, dude, just read the script.

That's the problem with the Saw films and where they took us, we felt like Gordon didn't care and was a bit out of character, as well as us being told Adam is dead.

The idea of the script is to attempt to reverse that believably...

  • The script is trying to fill in the blanks and bring Adam back in a believable way... as well as introduce new twists and turns as a Saw film generally would.

  • @GoHAddOn Yeah, I'm done reading the script now, thanks for posting it :) I didn't personally feel Gordon was out of character in Saw 3D, but the way he acts in your script also seems reasonable, considering the back story you gave him.

  • @ChaosRocket I respect your opinion, ChaosRocket, but I think Gordon was horribly out of character in Saw 3D. In Saw I, he took the time to crawl over to Adam and comfort him when he could've just crawled away. In Saw 3D, not only did he not give a shit about "Adam's" (quotations added to tie in with our version) corpse, but he was helping the guy who kidnapped his wife and daughter for no good reason. We're simply trying to find a logical way to explain that.

  • @ChaosRocket

It truly wasn't meant to be written as a sixteen year old female love story of Adam and Gordon. I am sorry if that is what you got out of it, that definitely was not the intention.

I would like to think that my writing is a little better than that, to be honest.

The 4th revision is going through a lot of grammar corrections. Spelling mistakes we may have overlooked, fixed. Also may be some shuffling of paragraphs.

However, the main body of the story should be the same.

  • So far, this is pretty much finalised. There are a couple of additional flashbacks Nicole and I are speaking about to flesh out a couple of scenes, but story-wise, it's pretty much solid. If Lionsgate or Twisted Pictures do stumble across it, they will notice they have enough to make about two movies from this, or one epic one.
