Last weekend I was making some basic sounds on the D-50, and I have to say it's a very capable synthesizer that can sound like Prophet-5, no kidding. Just use either use different pulse width values on the square and saw (yes, PW is available for saw also on the D-50) detune slightly the two osilators, say make 1 of the oscillators +3 fine tuned. I mean, this things sounds like OB-8 or Prophet 5! Of course, it doesn't touch the Memorymoog... which could as well be the monster synth of all.

thanks, that's really a compliment - the "hi hat" sound is coming from the Nord Lead (the upper keyboard)

Really in no position to bitch since I have not submitted any songs myself,:)

Since it is not finished maybe it will be of value to you with some suggestions.

The background arpeggio is nice. It could do with a bit more variation, maybe introducing a filter change in a few bars of the song.

The leadline is to stackato and much of a seamless loop for my liking. A few passages with longer sliding note would improove it I think.

The sound is nice and it could really go somewhere.

I have a NL2x too but I'm not good at using it. Could you make a video run through of what you are doing for this recording? ie. your patches on the NL2 and anything else. :) I really like the backing behind the melody

Hi, I can't make a video but I'll try to explain here; the keyboard is split (check the manual it is really easy); I think I've created the solo patch but can't remember; for the left hand, you need to find a bass sound and turn on the arp; the second arp is the copy of the first one but with noise selected for the oscillator- hope that helps - cheers!
