So my friend's son's class wants to learn to sign Silent Night and she asked me to video tape myself doing it so they could learn how to do it. Well I decided to cheat and check out the internet first and lo and behold I see my dear friend doing an AWESOME lesson on the song. Of course!!! So thanks for saving me from doing the work... you're the best!! Love you and miss you!!

Thanks so much for posting this video here for anyone to see and learn. I've always wanted to learn how to sign christmas carols, especially Silent Night, and you're a really great teacher.

I'm planning on having my grade 4/5/6 class sign silent night for our christmas concert and this is very helpful but I am wondering (and I know my students will wonder too so that is why I'm asking) why there are two different signs for night??

There are not two different signs for night. Listen to a hearing person and they might sing it differently, with a bit of soul, a bit of heart, a bit of jazz (whatever rings your bell). This is the same concept. A little latitude with the creativity of the song. SILENT DARK, HOLY NIGHT...it's all quiet here in this darkness, it's a truly holy night. it works!

In my church, I'd sign some songs that I can follow with ease (French words are sometimes harder to interpret) and the people who notice me sign like it, they say that my signing brings the words to life.
