I saw this when I was very little and this past summer and loved it! It was exciting and beautiful! I always have the wonderful music stuck in my head.
Anyone know how this compare to "HA" on Oahu?... I loved "HA" so much i bought the annual pass two yrs in a row at the moment... The video seems a little lacking in comparison...
When we saw HA, we were somewhat disappointed with it as we've seen the previous show several times. There were times in HA when we didn't know what or why a particular ethnic group performed, as it didn't fit the storyline. There were also instances where the pacing was too slow. We much preferred the older, previous show.
With Ulalena, we LOVED it from beginning to end! Great story! The music was hauntingly beautiful, it always leaves us in tears. It's a must see!
After waiting nearly a decade I first saw Ulalena a year and a half ago. Two weeks ago, I was finally able to take my family and a few nieces and a nephew. It was so awesome to watch Ulalena again but also to see my families eyes light up with excitement and to see them at the edge of their seats. They talked about it all the way back to Waiehu, on the plane ride back to O'ahu and continue to share their experience of Ulalena with everyone. Loved it and will definately see it again!
I'm originally from Maui and now live in Seattle and everytime I visit Maui, I always see Ulalena. Great show but the acrobatic acts for the moon and waterfall need to be more better. It was a bore to watch. Hope they improve it.
