By the way, I have worked with some of the best (not Keith Wilson tho) and a small Kiwi by the name of Ted Perkins is the best I have seen. Shearing 70 a run in big merino ewes near Moulamein and over 600 in Xbred lambs in NZ.

Seriously who told you Gene Mills had the 9 hour record? He is an aussie champion and AFAIK never held an official world record. Gene Mills is a merino shearer, Dion is a Xbred shearer. Considering 75% of the worlds sheep are merino, the best merino shearer would be the best shearer. But, hard to go past David Fagan.

@scubaseven7 i gota tell you sorry but dion can shear merinos mean as and still smoke gene miles on merinos as well as any breed of sheep in the world bloody ozzys all they can shear is merinos fullstop put them on some other breed and they cant shear them so the best shearer is the shearer who can shear all breeds just admit it kiwi shearers are the best in the world .dion is not just a xbred shearer believe me u ask someone who has worked with him in ozzy BOOM

@kysbanga Yeah I know he is good. But Cartwright Terry is better. And Dion Morrell and Keith Wilson are much better. Since 75% of the worlds sheep are merinos, the best merino shearer (Shannnon Warnest is the current world champ on merinos) would technically be the best shearer in the world.

@ovmied00 I read that maybe 10-15 years ago from a reputable source. Maybe an elders mag, the NZ shearing mag (this actually could be the one), and yes its prob less than 75% now. But I dont agree with the less merinos the better. Just the less "shit" merinos the better. You can shear 60-70 a run on good merinos no probs in Oz, you just have to find them.
