  • very nice.

  • Does this model have a half or quarter power switch?

  • nice man. just bought a fender twin reverb today for 650 and i feel like i won the lottery. what is your volume and other settings at here. sounds very reasonably but i've had mine on 2 (volume) and it's fucking peeling paint.

    good playing man.

  • Oy

  • Based on all the YouTube demos I've seen, Fender Twins are only capable of amplifying half-assed SRV licks.

  • @alexmortland I also many types of marshall amps so i can play half-asses yngwie malmsteen and hendrix licks in fact i can also play complete assed version of these as well on any amp.

  • @JimiRayYng Excellent form.

  • @JimiRayYng Is this the twin with a 3 button footswitch or 4 button footswitch? I have a twin I bought 7 years ago that has 3 buttons, the newer twins have four buttons.

  • Which Twin is this? What volume did you have it on? Great tone and playing.

  • THIS IS NOT SRV, YOU LYING BASTARD!

  • sloppier than an old crotch? lmao! what a tool! you sounded good bro. thanks for posting this!

  • Chasing tone or showing off your complete gamut of 9 lead-licks? But, I will tell you that some of them sound pretty kewl ;-)

  • Love to hear more of this amp with it's distortion & overdrive, not a pedal's. Nice stuff!

  • Great tone

  • I have the same amp. Mine is a 96' and I love it. I play a Gibson ES-335 through it and love my tone. Great playing!

  • killer ... wicket amp ...nice whallin

  • Just bought one of these and going to pick it up on Thursday. I've always been a Marshall man, but I find myself looking for a different type of sound these days so it will be interesting to hear the difference

  • This is the tone I am looking for. Similar to Buddy Guy's recent live tones, awesome! Does that thing have to be cranked to sound that good?

  • I really wish you'd do another video or two, showing the "drive" & the distorition channel in this amp *without* pedals. Great sound here! Cool amp.

  • sick tone man, it may have already been asked but, what channel was this played through, just the clean? sounds like it's got a little dirt in it

  • where is this amp made

  • hey, i'm thinking about buying one of these but i'm really having trouble getting that top end sparkle through this amp. I've played through both channels, really clean to pretty over driven and I've experimented a fair amount with the eq's and I just can't seem to get it. I'm playing a custom Strat, that through every other amp I've played, sounds great. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. PS... sweet playing!

  • Thats epic tone! very transparent!!! wish i could afford a Fender Twin

  • calm your self bro

  • Very Very nice tone!!!!!!

  • way to thin

  • Blah Blah Blah.Sloppier then an old crotch

  • @kennykanowski and youre no paul gilbert yourself poodle perm 80's. Go back to your harmonic minor scales, dont go on about technique unless you got some yourself 'dude'

  • @JimiRayYng It's usually the ones lacking in skill that go around making jealous negative comments, just ignore him :)

  • @JimiRayYng Ok, I agree with you that that dude is a douche bag but whats wrong with the harmonic minor scale?

  • @WachaDrop Two words: the 80s.

  • @JimiRayYng don't worry, he's just the nerd version of a real guitar player!!!!

and what about the nerd version of axl rose??

    ahahahahahahahaha..

  • @kennykanowski Oh but I am a Paul Gilbert.You just don't know it .Lol

  • @kennykanowski What a dick thing to say. So you can play better than JimiRayYng. Big whoop. Looks like Chris Risola can play better than you. Bitter asshole.

  • @delandwill I am a dick Bitch

  • @kennykanowski Obviously. Looks like it has worked well for you so far. Keep up the good work.

  • @kennykanowski

Why do you have to insult people?

Also having a clean technique and still playing stupid cock rock meaningless crap like Whitesnake doesn't make it better. I'm glad that garbage was smashed in the early 90s with real soul.

  • @kennykanowski Yer an idiot. And I've fucked some pretty tight old crotches, lol

  • @kennykanowski Jimi Hendrix's playing was considered sloppy, but he's the best guitarist who has ever lived, IMO.

  • @slpplexi1969 lol did your gym teacher in high school tell you that kid

  • @sincityskywalker What are you talking about?

  • @kennykanowski who cares? this tone is sick, and he has sweet bends.

  • try running all tone controls on ten,Fenders do not boost the tone circuit they only cut it,so if your running your controls at 5or 6 then you are cutting 50% of your tone.My amp never sounded better once some one put me on to this trick

  • just remove the two 6l6 power tubes in the center of the quad and you will get 15 watts when the switch is set to low power..and 60watts when the switch is set to high power...this is also in the manual that comes with our amps and is a feature that fender gives you instructions for...it will allow the tube amp to break up easier without blowing your eardrums out although me and others agree its still one hell of a 15watts!!!!!!!!!!

  • Too true brother! You could boil an egg with it cranked on 100W! I've only run it flat out once, at an open air gig at an airfield, and it was clear as a bell from over 300M away! Insane really, it is the musical version of a hydrogen bomb! :)

  • i have the same amp the 1994 model before they changed it i think in 2000 or 2002...but the only change is instead of the push pull drive and vintage drive type of selection you and i have...there are now white buttons..but i like these ones better...also you do know how to reduce some of the monster power to allow the amp to be more house friendly

  • Nice playing guy, I have this amp, do you biaz it yourself in the back?? Its .080 volts and the balance set at .000. Can you go a little hotter or no..How do you set yours and what tube do you use? Thanks.

  • I bias the same. I'm just using two JJ 6L6's at present, 60 watts is fine for gigging, 15 watts for practice and recording. I don't want plaster falling on my head if I use 4 vavles and high output!

  • SWEET TONE!

  • twin reverbs sound much better IMO

  • but with 85 watts of power, and not 1/4 power switch, in a bedroom or small venue, the reverb is overkill. You cant push for that "sounding better tone"

  • actually the twin reverbs have a unique cricuit where you can turn down the EQ controls and crank the volume and run the tubes pretty hot. i play a TR in my bedroom and it sounds amazing.

  • Great playing!! I just bought this amp, but cant find a lot of info about it online! Lots of info for "Twin Reverb", "Red Twin", or even "Identical Twin"... but theres not much out there about this "Evil Twin". If you know any good sites for techinal info, tubes, play settings... Couldja drop me a line? thx, and keep playing!

  • Damn dude, that's really good. The tone on that amp is amazing. Your playing is great too, A lot of phrasing which gives it character. 10/10

  • 1:36! That's the stuff. Gotta have that neck pickup engaged baby! I don't get how anybody uses the bridge pickup on a strat. It's just too jangly and thin....

  • seriously.

    On any guitar really.

  • you can wire the bridge pickup to the middle pickups tone pot, makes it a little better

  • good for chicken pickin tho

  • Comment removed

  • twins effing rule.

  • good "raw" playing!

  • great clip

    yeah, i got this one, it's a "Pro-Tube Twin"

13 tubes with tube driven tremolo

& yeah blakegale, for me, it took awhile to understand the dirty channel --- but when i learned how to dial it in, WHOA ( i almost gave up on this amp ) i would have been so wrong

i found that if you use your neck pickup and cut you GUITAR vol down to about 3-7 & CRANK the amp -you can then adjust the eq knobs to taste --- you get a rich, round vintage tone ( this cat sounds like he knows)

    sounds so sweet

  • A fine amp. A good sound. However, Fender's record of retail and customer support in recent years leaves so much to be desired, that it's best to stay away from this company altogether.

Don't take my word for it. Check with stores that get amps shipped DOA, and when they go to send them back for a replacement, they are told to ship to designated "repair depots". Fender has their money, and the store is without amp on floor space for sale when the amp is away getting fixed. Very bad.

  • songs great, do you ever use the red channel on this amp? i've heard it's kinda weak

  • What year is it. New or vintage.

    Cheers

  • within the last 10 years.

  • This is a new one, I dont think they(fender) have been making this version for too many years

  • @JimiRayYng i have troubles with the footswitch like the amp sounds way better with out it and the middle button that says effects is absoultely useless and adds crappy sounding distortions what do you think is wrong with my amp or footswitch? my thoughts are something wrong with back input jack or maybe the tubes are heating the chord that attachs to the back or maybe the switch is broken, lol i dont know but if you can help it will be much appreciated :D its a great amp i hope this can be fixed

  • @JimiRayYng Yeah not too many... just from the sixties;)

  • how much do they cost?

  • In the uk they are about £1200.00

  • there on music friend for $1500 plus tax and $60 shipping

  • Posting only a Great for you as I would like to have seen you on tube with you excellent finger work. Also what were your setting and and pedals?

  • so much soul in your playing dude you make that guitar weep and the amp helps you. i myself have the fender fromtman frontman 212 and i find this amp's clean way better than mine

  • Thanks.

  • Great tone man, is this the "yellow" chanel right?

I´m curious what your settings are (including EQ), and how you set the "red" chanel? just curious.

    Thanks

  • thnks, and yes this is the yellow channel the second volume is pulled out. with a ts-808 kicking in and out.

  • do you like this amp cause Im thinking about getting a fender amp but dont wanna spend that much

  • I love the fender twins, I have owned one before this, I sold it,and was sorry, so now i have brought this new one.

  • how do you play that lick at the 36 second mark? sounds deadly

  • Great playing!

What are the Master and Channel Volumes set to here? How much are you overdriving the power section?

    Nice amp!

  • Many thanks, the gain is on 10 & the master volume is between 0 and 1. The power setting is on low i.e. 25watts.

  • nice sound !! I used to play through fender amps back in the 60's 0- you play excellent !!!

  • Sounds like you've found what you're looking for!

  • Its getting there. I may try it with a marshall 2x12 extension cab I have to introduce a little of that 'papery' Celestion sound..Mmmm still not sure. What do you think ed?

  • thanks, 60's classic player strat

  • Thats some nice playing, your pretty good. I like the sound aswell but which guitar were you using on this one?
