nice harvest, you can see in our garden vid we have a grass problem too, but no tiller (except me and my trusty spade). This 1st year was lame but i expect more in years to come from the fruit trees. but we are done this year already have snow on the ground as of oct 10.
If you can take a rake (not a leaf rake ) and rake the top as much and as hard as you can this should let the frost in and kill of some of the roots (grass) this is alittle easyer and faster than shoveling the whole thing
Good harvest man! : ) Considering the way this year's gone, I think ya made out pretty good. *thumbs up* Look at corn this year,I'm amazed they even got a crop! LOL When its usually 6-7 feet, it was only knee/waiste high this year.
yes its realy low to the ground alomst 1/3 of waht it should be in some places alot are giving up on silage and are going to combine it as long as was dont get a heavy snowfall in nov like last year could be realy tricky i will be watching the price
IN the same climate on this side, snow 2 days in a row and sticking. good time 2 make jams and jelly. Your wifes seed saving was great help. Happy Holidays
Much colder than normal here as well. We are expecting a very cold winter .
Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Ours isn't for another 5-6 weeks yet.
Good luck getting the rest of the potatoes in. Also with the tilling. Tilling up that wet soil can be quite a chore. Shouldn't be too bad with that nice rear-tine tiller you have :)
*I think I would empty each sack of potatoes out on a old rug and then put a fan on them. Hate to see your potatoes rot you put so much effort into digging them. That or trade a couple of sacks with someone for other food that keeps better :) so that they will be used.
that might work i just got so many of them about 800lbs in the basment that are dry and about 1300lbs on the summer kitchen drying in the bags seems to be working ok for now
I just collected my bean seeds this past weekend. I Put them on a high shelf and they are already drying quickly. I have enough to last all next year with planting new sections every week to keep em coming. Thanks for sharing.
I love your videos, the rain this year made my garden the same way. It was much smaller but nothing grew to its full potential. Cheers and keep the great vids comin,
Yeah we do the same thing make apple sauce and apple butter. I want to make hard cider next year just can find recipe. Have you got your first hard frost over there yet? We have got down to -7*c already and its been no warmer then 5*c for the last week even got our first snow fall here.
