no mate , it's a fife for military style marching bands, It is High Pitch, but played here in the low and middle octaves only. It is an excellent instrument and cost between 70 and £700 depending on the maker. Theyare Bb, but are actually in Ab and they have 5 or 6 keys run from low d to middle and high d and then to High A
No mate, it's a regular High Pitch Bb. I play it in the lower 2 registers rather than the top 2. First notes of this are low abc# ddd , the d being all six holes covered but no d# key.
It sounds ok on the lower octaves coz I'm in my living room, but if you were to play it out on the road, you'd need to play it a lot higher, and you'd need to change the key too.
Thanks a lot for your answer ;) By the way, do you have the sheet music or could you tell me where can I find exactly the version that you play in this video? I'd love to try it in any of my whistles! Cheers!
Thanks, Yes it's a 6 key fife, but is sometimes referred to as a flute hence the keys. It's a Bb Miller Browne and can be bought for about £55 or $100 on ebay
