Well, I am not Mormon, and I support same-sex marriage. But the LDS Prophet seems to receive revelations that keep the LDS faithful in the mainstream of American social and political practice. Just. After SSM becomes commonplace, the Prophet will recievea revelation that same-sex couples can marry. But that won't happen for a very long time after SSM is commonplace! I guess, maybe, in 2110 or so.
The same things happens every time after their dogmas are not acceptable anymore or they become illegal by the society they live in, then and only then does god reveal his change of opinion, god is so slow sometimes, specially on human rights.
