@ObviouslyObvious1 Actually, it's possible to do better. He obviously didn't EV fully, seeing as the highest Cloyster's Defense can be is 504. Also, maxing out only Defense isn't good EV training. Anyone with a Pokemon game can max out one stat, but "good" EV trainers can max out 2 or more simultaneously.

The video maker is correct and I speak for him. That Cloyster is NOT hacked. It's supposed to have high defense. Cloyster takes very little damage physically but has less HP than its defense. Btw, it's 504, not 505.

Cloyster has 219 DEF so it's reason able

at lvl99 that it would have 497 DEF.

you don't even need to worry about using Shell Smash with this, his defense is so bulky it'll still be in the 300s (at least) if you use it once.

Why not EV train HP and special defense? In gen 5 icicle spear is 125 total power with skill link, so use it instead of avalanche. You don't need more attack or defense. So why not bolster your special defense with light screen instead of steel defense?

a cloyster can have 504 defense with 31 ivs and a relaxed nature plus 252 evs in defense max, though my cloyster has evs in special defense so it can survive a hit from a special atk then explode
