Boxers just hit the heavy bag and did pushups ad chinups etc. to build their strength back then for strength endurance. Frazier had power, but far more functional for his sport, those guys really fought for 15 rounds throwing punches all the time unlike todays heavyweights who are blowing after 2-3 rounds.
Joe frazier have arms problem and elbow problem, and he cannot all open his left hant, beacouse he broked it when he was kid. so sthength not lifting iron
@jooljetkmae Don't be a fucking retard, weights has nothing to do with boxing. Boxing relies on the technique of how to properly throw a punch and ability to take a punch. Don't call Frazier pathetic just because he lost a contest of weight lifting to a pole vaulter. Frazier never used weights in his training, neither did Muhammad Ali. And I assure they would have lost in weight lifting competitions, but they would beat the face off any weightlifter.
Joe is totally clueless about how to lift the weight-but he was a top flight athlete so a few weeks practise and he'd have been lifting plenty with good technique
frazier was a big boned guy, he was naturally strong but he never trained with weights, frazier would kill all these guys in a fight, plain and simple. so it is for all the bodybuilders retards, your strength= shit
@666marquis obviously you are a simpleton ignorant piece of shit, do you think that the " stronger guy" would win a fight? george foreman or mike tyson would kill ronny coleman in a fight, but ronny " is stronger".
@FijneWIET : HW division is so "dead" that the K-Bros get 40,000+ to every fight. Boxing is "dead" to Americans and American-lovers because their precious black fighters aren't on top. And never will be again.
as far as i know that was because he needed to gain weight and go up into a higher weight division, your right though, holyfield is one of the only big name boxer to do serious weight lifting
bob seagren was a very great atlete, he didn't won the gold medal at munchen, because of a uncorrect decisions of the judges, but in the superstars he proved how great and coplete he was, he was great in every sport, and very professional, in comparison to other atlete who didn't train so seriously as him
Joe is a weakling, pathetic.

Joe has horrible lifting form, he'd probably never touched a weight in his life before this. Boxer didn't lift weights back then.
