I just bought the Formosa and realized why you experienced a motor failure. The linear BEC in most brushed ESC's is only capable of operating two servos with an 11.1 volt LiPo battery. Since the Formosa uses three servos, it requires a separate switch-mode BEC, when the motor is powered by more than 8.4 volts. The motor won't actually fail. What happens is the servos overdraw too much current, then the receiver experiences a brownout, and this causes a loss of signal to the ESC and motor.
