@BritRock93 i think it may be so that they dont knock the dials on there jazzmasters when they are playing , max bloom ( the lead guitarist ) does the same thing on his fender jaguar :)

@BritRock93 Because they are both playing Fender Jazzmasters, and those particular models have switches in that spot that change from you from the 'rhythm' circuit, to the 'lead' circuit. This completely changes the tone, so if you don't need to change it during your set, and you don't want to accidentally hit it while playing, you can cover it with duct tape. :)
