@TroyHavenTV It was said in an interview that they didn't know that this would be their last concert and if they knew that it was going to end like that, they would have done their final performance at a more suitable location.
I dont know how john could ever fall for yoko. There was not one single woman on the face of the earth who would have turned him down and he chose her.
@TheCheweeRevolutions I don't understand it either but it's really not for us to understand. It was John's choice. Maybe he wanted someone as quirky as he was, who knows. I never cared for Yoko but you can't help who you fall for, can you?
It's a dam cryin shame that there is no room in the music industry for true blue artist like the Beatles anymore here and in Europe. Now a'days u have to either jump around like an ediot cursing on a mic or shake yr tits & ass & be considered an artist. Give me a F**kin Break! I've worked with hometown bands that possese this kind of talent but thanks to mainstream idiots, we who can appreciate good raw talent will never witness cuz they're never giving a solid chance.
"greatest band of all time?" you got to be kidding me. I like some of their stuff, which is great. but no better then groups that came before them and afterwards. they drifted off into a lot of drugs and fighitng and broke up. decent musicians but I dont see the mystique. im ready for the hate mail !
Wow. This makes me want to cry. These men onpened the worlds eyes to what was going on around them. We are in the same situation now, but we have no one even remotly like this amazing band to open our eyes...
I love watching the people on the streets and rooftops. What a cool thing! How they dressed at that time, etc. Imagine just walking down the street and hearing a band play---yes, it catches your attention and it JUST HAPPENS to be The Beatles. If they only had known how historical this would be!
What a way to end the relationship of this band- the greatest band of all time, to play on the rooftop and let the whole town, city hear your music. Now a days people would get killed for doing this, I'm sure their presence is still felt there
@blackbeltbrown not exactly, John had though about leaving earlier, like when he wrote the song "Help" he (John) was looking for a way out kinda'. then all kinds of disagreements and other stuff came up and Paul left the band- they all knew it was inevitable they would break up, they just didnt know when or how exactly..
@OneAndGun no, it's a well known fact and if you want proof: The Beatles Anthology revealed that Lennon wrote the lyrics of the song to express his stress after The Beatles' quick rise to success. "I was fat and depressed and I was crying out for 'Help'," Lennon told Playboy.[6] Writer Ian MacDonald describes the song as the "first crack in the protective shell" Lennon had built around his fragile emotions during The Beatles' rise to fame, and an important milestone in his songwriting style.
@4FabBEATLES sure, he was stressed about how he couldnt really handle all the fame and how he "lost his identity" but he never referred to it being anything about leaving the band
@ielizondo44 because they couldn't agree on a tour. they hated one another at this point and just got it over with by setting up on the roof. McCartney wanted to lead the band and Lennon was hooked on Heroin or about to be. He and Harrison were going into Lazy hippy mode and McCartney was still a work horse, extremely disciplined and saddled with lazy famous hippies.
@ielizondo44 this was the last public live performance before they broke up. they only played together 1 more time in the Apple basement on the 31st but that wasnt public this was unanounced, since the Beatles wanted to tour but couldnt agree on where to hold a concert.
it's probably a good thing the beatles broke up when they did. They achieved way more than anyone ever could in the space of eight years and the legacy remains so strong because they didn't fade away like some groups who continued on. Also, screaming girls sending them from the stage to the studio was probably the best thing that ever happened to them.
@benedictsuratos yeah, it's sad they borke up, they just weren't getting along and then other problems came up, they all knew it was going to happen eventually, even soon as you an see in the movie Let It Be which just films their everyday work and includes them arguing and stuf
U2 did,and it is also on "Simpsons" when they were the "B-sharps" .The Beatles did it.They were the first."I hope it won´t last forever" as John sings....
omg just how brilliant it would have been to be there...your just doin your shoppin average day then use THE BEATLES performing live on a rooftop aww pure magic

Yes, THE greatest band of all time. Tell me what band was as musically sophisticated as these guys?
John, Paul, George, and Ringo all went on to have extremely successful solo careers prior to The Beatles.
Over 40 years later they are still as popular as they were when they were performing.
Two of theme had attempted assassinations on them, sadly, one being successful.
Who else has left the kind of mark that The Beatles have left in the music Industry?
swagerty5 1 year ago
@swagerty5
Ringbolt9 I would like you to list a pair of songwriters that even come close to matching the stature of Lennon/McCartney.
(Excluding Dylan, [I consider him more of a poet than songwriter], Much Like Jim Morrison)
Gilmour/Waters? nope
Plant/Paige? nope
Richards/Jagger? nope
Clapton/Whitlock? nope
Garcia/Hunter? nope
I would like to hear who you believe is even on the same level...
