Governments nationalizing and over regulating economies hasn't been too successful. Communism stagnates economies as we've seen since the Cuban revolution. This is why there are few communist countries left. Even Raul Castro is moving Cuba away from communism.

In the ups most people do well, but the downs are catastrophic, and we can see it as its been the past 5 years. It doesnt really work either. We need something new, different that can incorporate both aspects. the fact that we have to decide over one or the other really trumps any real functionality.
America and other countries already have some mix of capitalism and socialism. Some country's systems just lean more in one direction than the other. The financial collapse had complex causes. Some of the causes were tied to deregulation and some tied to gov't interference in the market place. I think it comes down to how well an economy is managed. Economies need regulations but not over regulation. Taxes handled depending on the circumstances. Safety nets need to be prioritized etc

Brush up on your history because you clearly know absolutely nothing. Pedro Albizu Campos was a great man who fought for the people of Puerto Rico. There are many schools in his name, one in my town. It matters not what political party, of Puerto Rico, you belong to the fact remains he was a great leader, who stood up for his country and fought for justice and his rights.
