Israel was able to take them down by using surprise air tactics against the Egyptians. 2 years of non stop training gave them the capability of rapid refitting of aircraft returning from sorties so they were able to send constant waves to destroy the large Egyptian air force thus giving them the edge on the ground.

The British Mandate expired and with the help of the UN the British mandate made an offer to partition a Jewish state and a Palestinian state. The Jews accepted the offer, the Arabs didn't. So the Arabs by default gave up their claim for land. Also Israel was approved by UN during agreement.

Israel has proved many times to have the most effective military of the region. But if it wants peace, there is only one solution: leave West Bank, East Jerusalem and give them to PA. Stop blocking their efforts to be a state as you are doing in UN and its agencies. Pre 1967 borders is the only solution. The sooner you accept this, the better for all.

Since then there has been many attacks, at times daily attacks, on Israel from the Gaza strip. The IDF withdrawal from the Gaza strip did not result in peace or a lull in violence against Israel. Why would the IDF leaving east Jerusalem and the West Bank result in peace when the withdrawal from Gaza was met with increased violence?

However the number of settlers in the West Bank and in East Jerusalem never ceased to grow, causing frustration among Palestinians.

For those who think Israel stole land from the Palestinians, read your history. Israel started when the ailing Ottoman Empire was annexed by Britain in the Middle East region creating the British Mandate. The British Mandate expired and with the help of the UN the British mandate made an offer to partition a Jewish state and a Palestinian state. The Jews accepted the offer, the Arabs didn't. So the Arabs by default gave up their claim for land. Also Israel was approved by UN during agreement.

Israel has proved many times to have the most effective military of the region. But if it wants peace, there is only one solution: leave West Bank, East Jerusalem and give them to PA. Stop blocking their efforts to be a state as you are doing in UN and its agencies. Pre 1967 borders is the only solution. The sooner you accept this, the better for all.

Since then there has been many attacks, at times daily attacks, on Israel from the Gaza strip. The IDF withdrawal from the Gaza strip did not result in peace or a lull in violence against Israel. Why would the IDF leaving east Jerusalem and the West Bank result in peace when the withdrawal from Gaza was met with increased violence?

Israeli withdrawal from Gaza strip has helped to end Al-Aqsa intifada and since then the number of suicidal attacks carried out by Palestinians has significantly dropped. If you compare the situations pre and after 2005, you notice a decrease of violencd in terms of number and victims. However the number of settlers in the West Bank and in East Jerusalem never ceased to grow, causing frustration among Palestinians.

If you give them what they ask, i.e. a viable state within pre1967 borders, frustration and support for violence will decrease. Otherwise, don't expect them to stop resorting to violence.
