Once a disciple was pushing a cart when he happened to come upon the master lying down with his legs outstretched. "What moves forward should not contract", said the master. "What moves forward should not retract, said the disciple, and he pushed the cart over the masters legs.
The master went to the monastery with an axe & asked for the disciple who had damaged him. The disciple stepped forward and revealed his neck to be chopped.
The master dropped the ax and recognized his enlightenment.
