it looks like you "fly" with a 'nose up' attitude in the video. is it just the way it is shot or does the suit actually allow you to glide with that attitude? And what is the best efficiency you can get? (as in distance fallen/distance forward); that gorge in "grinding the crack" looked like a shallow descent.

140+mile per hour depending on how steeply(head down) you fly, glide ratio's are getting in excess of 3/1(3 feet forward to every 1 foot down) with wingsuits like Vampire V4 and the Venom

Just amazing this flight! With a strong wind, enough creating Ridge Soaring around +4m/s and if in a few years time the wingsuit get lower sink rate ex: around -3m/s and he follow the ridge just like he did on this flight probably he would gain hight or at least mantain it. (+4m/s) - (-3m/s) = +1m/s up and maintain it as long as there is enough strong wind coming straight on the cliff and he keep close to the ridge. lets wait and see, in the main time i enjoy watching jeb Corliss flights =)

The Glide Ratio seems hight because he is flying "Ridge Soaring" following the ridge just like paragliders, hangliders, eagles etc..If the wind is coming straight on the clift is generate a wave lift up near the Ridge. If his wingsuit sinkrate is around

-10m/se and the wave lift is going up at +3m/s then he is falling at sink rate of

-7m/s and his glide ratio increase to maybe 4;1 or even more if the wind is stronger...

It is an awesome video - I would think it is a matter of setting the camera - if not & you are correct evolutiondeath08 then the 4:3 footage should of been converted to 16 X 9 format pre edit so that the entire video is 16X9 ( this can be done in Final Cut Pro - import the 4:3 file but export to 16X9 format setting. Not a hard trick - just saying....

The Gopro shoots in 1080p which is 16:9 but it is only a 127 degree wide angle. For the super wide 170 degree you must shoot in the 4:3. All the super close shots look better in 170 degree wide and totally worth having black bars on the side. To do 16:9 will cut into the shot or distort the shot which will destroy what makes the shot amazing in the first place. I personally like the super wide angle shots and feel it is a small price to pay having black bars on the sides.

@avideo4u i think he was sure that not all cams synced at 16x9 because the GoPro HD Cam records at 4:3 with an angle of 170° and at 16:9 only with 127°. I think that was no fault, he wants to get the best view for each angle and then you need sometime the widest angle and for this you need the 4:3 mode.
