If hip hop was wiped off the face of the earth, And one day, There were some relics found that held music. (Let's say it was an I-pod nano or some shit) What MC would you wish was on it? My answer is FUCKIN DOOM!!! Deep down you all know he carries the essense of this thing we LIVE and LOVE called Hip Hop!
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan This nigga Merc'd that bitch. Read the Lyrics did u hear what this nigga said. Cot Damn. Im studying Doom so I can pull this off one day Damn
This track is true streetslang poetry. I love to memorize rapper's lyrics and this one is tough...like a tongue twister. The wordplay that rolls off metal face's tongue is just amazing. A+ Newbies to rap, take a lesson.
i heard comments saying drake and lil wayne all have senseless lyrics and just catchy chourses, i could understand where they were coming from, but i slighty disagreed, some of them tell really good stories
and this is the first time i listened to mf doom, his flow if fucking sick, but his lyrics are jus shit put together to rhyme most of em dont make sense
n the same ppl who worship this man are the same ppl who are hating on wayne n drake
i understand its the love for the undergound though
@lovesickTWELVE ok first of all you took both lines out of context. second of all doom was using an actual literary technique called "internal ryhme" , as opposed to yelling out "AYYYYYE" or saying shit like " im the shit like in the toilet" and " my house big like ah building". as you can see DOOM is clearly beyond simple similes and the reason why you dont appreciate his music is because your mind simply cannot understand the combination of brilliant lyricism and meter that DOOM uses.
@lovesickTWELVE like awsome said you took that out of context, listen to his opening line, thats all you gotta do. u probably listen to lil wayne huh?
The violins, beat and rhymes on this track are off the hook. One of my favorite tracks off that tight azz "Born like this'' CD. Doom murdered it. Straight up!
but ive been bumpin DOOM since high school and forever will be bumpin i honestly feel bad for those who don't know who DOOM is and those who aren't into him. this music is so f*cking dope. rhymes beats. one of the most talented ever. far beyond GOAT
Hmm the part where he says "Rarely Smoke" confuses me...
He was Americas most Blunted, remember? Lmao Dooms the fuckin man though...
I'll be honest, i loved this album when i first picked it up, but it's kind of easy to get tired of... I'm not saying the album is wack, because i still think it's sick... But i'm sure it's safe to say that he needs to come out with another album with Madlib, or another Viktor Vaughn album... When he made those albums, that's when his game was peaked...
@GoodLaxatives Yeah Vaudeville Villain and MM Food are his best albums for me. But his worst album would still be 100 times better than any mainstream pop rappers attempt.
Damn, as soon as the song starts "Already Woke, Spare the joke, barely spoke, rarely smoke, stared at folks, when properly provoked, mirror broke"
And then he keeps up that PSYCHOTIC flow for practically the whole song... I don't know how he does it... I don't know how people can still think people like Lil Wayne and Drake are "the best rappers" after hearing this...
I live out in long island... I deal with the same shit... And i'm only 15 which makes it worse because most of the fanbase of those clown rappers comes from kids & teens... School starts for me in a week or 2, can't wait to hear people chanting new Mike Jones songs in the hallways... (sarcasm)
it's like this every where man... so i know what you mean... where im from most of the people think that lil wayne is the bigget legend in hip-hop... but no one of them know Doom, Immortal Tech, Canibus, Rakim or even Nas... so that's why
it's sad that the majority of my peers that I'm around don't know what truly is hip hop (and I'm 17). I have a few friends in my age group who know the real deal.
@Errol718 i have to deal with the same stuff here, thats why i want to move to newyork or a place were people kno what real hiphop is but i dont kno if there is such a place but all i know is doom has to be around were ever that place is,lol
@crissmentrienafaire they do know, they just think their thing is better, money, magazines, image. they dont care, but neither do we. lets focus on the good shit yayah!
thank you! i completely agree. fuck lil wayne, drake, and mainstream rappers for all that matter. doom, madlib, they're the true niggas who be stayin real
Lil WHO ! drake WHO ! no my intention to diss on nobody but are u guys listen to this ? pure hip hop, the essence of real hip hop ,street shit ,not fuckin commercial garbage like some of the rappers out there, this is the thing we should support i mean...if u really ,really care about hip hop ,no more to be said.do u math and see what u got
is the beat from this song sampled? i love doom but he samples a lot and im trying to find a song by his that DOESNT have a sample so i can win a bet with a friend haha
this album is so good. the first probably 10 times i listened to it i could only focus on the beats cause they're so original... and i was stoned.... but then also paying attention to the lyrics? sick stuff.
