  • Just a pointer, not trying to be mean...you need to work on the 'Ums' and 'Uhs'.

  • You gave some good advice. I would like to add that its important to try for yourself what you can eat while running. Bananas work for most of he ppl but the power gels are tricky. On one of the long runs befor its easy to try out different gels or bananas etc. even the shirt and the shorts you gone wear should be tested...

I have seen a lot of guys taping their nipples.

There is even more one can try out befor....

  • good cal. Try all the gear you'll use on race day before hand on a long run! Good point about the gels to. Better to experiment with them beforehand.

I tape my nipples like many guys do.....damn they hurt if you don't...it's actually quite unbearable pain when they get chafed!

  • Personally, I like to eat a lot of Ho Hos before I run. Just kidding, I don't run, I just like to eat Ho Hos.

I did ride my bike a TON in college and asked my BioChem prof what a good portable food to eat for energy and what not would be. He answered 'Peanuts'. So there ya go.

Good luck on the run, I can't wait to see the vid afterward and hear how it went.

  • I have never had a Ho Ho. We don't have those in Canada.

Peanut M&M's are pretty wonderful things though. i like some of those before a run :)

  • Sup Kev,

Nice advice also an important one when buying shoes is not to think how great they feel when you try them on but also to ask how much they dent inwards after some usage. You need good support from your shoe and although running shoes are made for it, I do have some bad experience with some Adidas and Nikes from a few years back.

If you feel you need that bit of extra cupping support get some: Spenco Performance Gel Insole. Or any sole that can keep your feet cool and stable.

    Draz

  • Good advice, marathons seem pretty intimidating. But you have it down to a science lol.

  • I like the way you say pasta.

  • hehe...

Not sure what to make of that ;)

    Good eatin though!

  • I got a pair of tights too... Women usually stare at my dick when im out running that and feeling it.... must be what women feel when they show alot of cleavage lol

  • I train with music when I am running is that bad for a marathon?

  • I always have my iPod. I listen to podcasts myself. DOn't think there is anything wrong with that. Just be EXTRA careful for cars and other traffic when running with music :)

  • @jlandkev Haha, this is very true, I've had that experience running before. x.X

  • So do they tell you use music on a marathon

  • some people never listen to music and some do. i think it is a personal choice. I sometimes like to run without my iPod and just get wrapped up in my thoughts. Sometimes though, i find it boring without it. It is a personal preference!

I used my iPod during my last marathon :)

  • You pretty much hit everything on the ball. And I completely agree, shoes are very personal. Definitely go w/ what is best for you.

  • Excellent tips!

  • You are so right. people really need to do research into buying the proper shoes and if they are new to running, advice from specialists at a running shop can go a long way!

i have never even been to NYC! I would love to run it someday though. that might be a good reason to travel to New York someday...mind you, there are many great reasons to visit New York :)

  • That was a very good advice Kevin, shoes is one aspect most people over overlook, they think that just buying any brand shoe like nike or adidas is enough, when the ideal thing is to really find a shoe that fits your needs and is comfortable.

I haven't been in a marathon in like 8 years, that was back then when I was in shape from playing soccer.

Hey Kevin,Have you ever been in the New York City Marathon?

  • Kev, Fly like the wind!

  • I will fly like a very slow wind ;)

  • That's awesome that you made a video for superspryte. I told her to email you. ^_^

  • I saw your comment! Thanks :)

  • ooh, sickness is no good for marathon training !

Can you link the woman's youtube channel?

  • I just did! Thanks....forgot to do that :)

  • I though you were probably going to do that to be honest.

Just thought I'd give you a reminder :P

  • Looks like another interesting j-vlogger.

    She's kinda cute too.
