  • "it matters not the number of years in your life...but the life in your years."

  • he reminds me of bob dylan

  • so underrated as guitarist

  • One word: Genius!

  • fucking magical!!!

  • to megreynolds1: this is the most helpful answer ever

the answer is in the music

the music without words is the answer

music communicates more than any words ever can

listen @ 2:25 for your answer

    the music, rhythm, melody, harmony.

2:25 and on is life . life put into music

delicate and soft growing more and more into a complex symphonic climax

the answer is life is music sad sweet and beautiful

  • @fjmello08

Yeah, I like this interpretation. I think he's also saying that we all have the same fucking questions on life and the only answer is, like you said, there isn't one so you might as well enjoy it for what it is...cool song!

  • Love this guy. He's like Tom Waits's younger, more melodic brother.

  • unfortunately he looks like a jonas brother

  • Because vanity is everything.

  • @ragnarokisnow unfortunately your comment sucks. He plays, looks, and sings better than all of them will ever.

  • he has such a soothing voice.

  • haha i love the lyrics to this song...the most unhelpful answer ever

great song, m. ward is the man

  • haha! it all goes round till it comes right back to where you were when you started. How's that for an answer? Bananas are yellow because oranges are round.

  • somebody tell me about that guitar he;s playin ? ? ? old epiphone? sounds so good

  • Old Silvertone. Beautiful guitar.

  • Amazing Song!

  • M. WARD FOR PRESIDENT

  • Rally like this song!

  • nice !

  • such a perfect sound

  • wat instrument is that guy shaking, the guy one the left

  • Probably an egg shaker, which is a sealed plastic egg filled with pellets (sort of like a tiny maraca without a handle).

  • my favorite song on post-war

  • i love m. ward. he's so cool.

  • M.Ward for president

  • look, sara palin on drums

  • this guy really can do no wrong

  • This, my friends, is a classic song.

  • brat mi e shiban lainar. da se ebe v guza gadniq neshtastnik. ne mi puka za nego

  • this goodness

  • are hot

  • great!!! a really nice song.

too much new jersey to be california.

It seems yo la tengo ballads.

  • try portland

  • This is my favorite song, maybe my all-time favorite.

  • sweet

  • cool

  • magnificent.

  • I'd predict that M. Ward is gonna see some popularity in the coming years. To me, it seems like his music is pretty underground right now.

  • his music makes you a better person.

  • Wrd has a beautiful voice and a sexy guitar too:D

  • yeah, what do you do with pieces of a broken man?

    excellent

  • such a perfect sound

  • What do you do with the pieces of a broken heart.

    Nice. So Nice.

  • Who is that drummer and where is she from?

  • I think it might be Rachel Blumberg. Recorded with the Decemberists and then switched gears to join M. Ward on tour. Good choice.

  • wow, i love his voice. thanks for posting. btw does anyone know the chords for his song 'Dead Man' iv been looking for ages.

  • i love the song! my crush likes it so i looked it up and it is so good!

  • HOW does a man, like me, remain in the light?

  • the story becomes the story, the song becomes the song- like that song- lets see its called the tennessee flattop box by johnny csh, was a hit for his daughter, the song is a story and then the story goes into - becomes- the song

  • I was looking for a Chinese translation for business and found this Video. My good fortune! I would add great live mix by the audio engineer to boot. Cheers

    G Doyle

  • i opened for him in sydney.

  • I agree. Nothing but positive and down to earth. His laid back style reminds me of JJ Cale and Dylan. M Ward would be wise to keep producing lyrics that say but dont say... He's very talented.

  • My friend directed his video for Chinese Translation. I saw him in Portland at a secret concert and he rocked :)

  • Hey-O! Great song and a chick drummer! Well alright!

  • His voice is so funny :> I like it.

  • yeah... so what DO you do with the pieces of a broken heart?

  • Throw in his album, sing along and let solace seep in.

  • @idiotaxiom no musical artist, no matter how true, could help with the pieces of a broken heart. You just let it ride out.

  • This guy is brilliant. I heard M. Ward the other day for the first time..happened to be this song. Brilliant. I've also checked out his other music and he is a great singer/songwriter. His latest album I think named Post War, I have heard several tracks and am awaiting it coming from Amazon. Amazing...

  • Very good song, excellent footage and sound.

  • H

Damn, he has swallowed everthing...including Dylan and Hendrix, Velvet Underground (hell he looks like a healthy young Lou), Cash, X, tin pan alley, leonard Cohen, Nick Cave, Pixies and produced something new to listen to.He doesn't have any idols. He isn't copying anybody and hasn't left the basic strain of rock for pop electisism or popularity He arranges like a MOFO

  • Well said Sir, well said

  • yeaaa

  • badass song
