I see that your technique work really well. Looks good. I was saying though that even though you fixed the problem there i could be an internal underlying issue that caused the problem to begin with. I experienced this and a number of other symptoms before my ob/gyn diagnosed me with pcos.

You may want to talk with your doctor about what caused your neck to become dark to start with. There is a condition that many women suffer from called pcos and this is a very common side effect. Even if docs have done regular insulin test you should see a gyn or an endocrinologist.

I found out that I was having a bad reaction to necklaces. I sweat on the back of my neck and this past summer I had a really bad burn where the necklace was around my neck. The burn was sooo bad I had to go to the doctor. :o/ Well, since I stopped wearing any type of necklaces it has gotton a lot lighter. So now I rock scarves or use ribbons......NO BURNS.

Hyperpigemtation can also be caused be internal sources such as poor diet. The liver is mainly responsible for our skin complexion. Vitamin C helps the liver produce l-glutathione which reduces the melenin production. l-glutathione sources can be found in Most green vegetables. Also cut down on high sugary foods as it inflames the skin. Work on the inside not just the outside.

Because of the hormones is why your neck got dark. It happened to me. Only after the hormones went back to normal for me, some skin tags appeared. I could make a video on how to naturally get rid of those... just as soon as I find that remedy and try it out on one. Interesting vid though. :)

Reason my neck is dark is because I gained weight, the heavier I go the darker my neck got, it's so weird, using papaya soap is temporary. I told my grandma and she's so honest, she says lose weight lol.... so let me just try, but man if only I can pay to lose weight haha...

Hi Kimonica - great name! I love it. just a quick note: darkening or hyperpigmentation on the neck particulary is usually due to hormonal imbalances....maybe more estrogen than any other hormone. Try DIM - it can help rid the body of excess estrogen and helps keep fibroids at bay! Hope this helps...

@GamingProd1gyX Isn't lava soap a pumice soap. That might be too harsh for your skin. If just washing your neck more thoroughly has been helping, you should continue with that, but don't get too aggressive with scrubbing your neck. Be gentle!!! It likely doesn't have anything to do with dirt, so scrubbing away won't be that effective. Using a sunscreen and moderating your sun exposure should help it from getting darker. Sorry, I'm not more helpful.

@PlusSizeKimonica Did you know about Acanthosisa Nigricans? If so.... why you didn't mention on your video that your doctor said you didn't have it. This is a disorder that is mainly common in overweight people. People who are not overweight can get it too, but it's very rare. Using lightening creams will only lighten for a short period of time. There are ways you can lighten it permanently the same color as your face and do not have to worry about it again.

the dark ring around the neck is called Acanthosis nigricans. It is caused by obesity, diabetes, and a condition called polycystic ovarian syndrome. the only way to really treat it is to treat the underlying causes. yes it is mostly seen in people of african american descent and so forth because the risk factors that i noted above are all more prevalent in african americans and non caucasian people.

sometimes a dark neck comes from the hair products that you put in your hair... i know this because i used to wear my hair in a wrap all the time and i used to spray oil sheen in my hair almost daily and my hair was shoulder length, so the hair was resting around my neck/shoulders and i noticed that my neck was getting darker... so i stopped using the oil sheen in my hair... AND youre absolutely right, every darn medical condition cannot be blamed on being overweight... that's nonsense!

i've had a dark neck for as long as i remember and my docter told me that it is because i have polcystic ovaries which you get through your genetics so sometimes it can be a sign that something eles is going on with your body i now use a facial scrub by queen helen to scrub my neck evey other day and a bleching cream and it is lighten up a little bit and also that helps if you have dark underarms too.
