I would have just picked him up. It's dangerous for him (cars could merge back into him not being able to see him for the bus) and it's just one person and he's near the bus stop at least. Granted, the guy was stupid for what he did. However, Halifax bus drivers are not the best drivers around. This guy had "bus rage". Bus drivers in Montreal & Toronto are robots BUT they are on-time which is an important skill if you're a bus driver, not early, not late. I have had drivers leave stops early to have smoke breaks. I have had drivers tell me it was none of my business to tell him that there was an elderly lady running up the street to catch the bus.
Hes a hazard, I would pick him up and tell him to NEVER do that again. Someone could have rear ended the bus or side swiped the bus as it sat in the roadway

I DID THE EXACT SAME THING AT THAT EXACT SAME SPOT! Happened around 3 months ago late at night. Last bus of the night that would have got me home and the woman on the bus was out of service. As soon as she went in service, she reached her stop, 2 seconds, hit the gas. Left 8 people and I stopped her. I was banned for 1 month.
If I was the driver, I would run down this "illegal" pedestrian, no exception.
